    Abstract: This book presents explainability in edge AI, an amalgamation of edge computing and AI.     Abstract: The book consists of papers on selected topics of dependability analysis in computer systems and networks which were discussed during the 17th DepCoS-RELCOMEX conference held in Wrocław, Poland, from June 27th to July 1st, 2022. Their collection will be an interesting source material for scientists, researchers, practitioners and students who are dealing with design, analysis and engineering of computer systems and networks and must ensure their dependable operation. Being probably the most complex technical systems ever engineered by man (and also, the most dynamically evolving ones), organization of contemporary computer systems and networks cannot be interpreted only as a structure built on the base of unreliable technical resources. Their evaluation must take into account a unique blend of interacting people, networks (together with mobile properties, cloud organization, Internet of Everything, etc.) and a large number of users dispersed geographically and constantly producing an unconceivable number of applications. Research methods being continuously developed for dependability analyses apply newest results of artificial and computational intelligence. Selection of papers in this book illustrates broad range of topics, often multi-disciplinary, which is considered in present-day dependability explorations; it also reveals an increasing role of the latest methods based on machine/deep learning and neural networks in these studies.

These attempts require interdisciplinary actions, covering not only science disciplines involved in the development of artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction but also close cooperation between researchers and practitioners. For this reason, the main goal of the MIDI conference held on 9-10.12.2021 as a virtual event is to integrate two, until recently, independent fields of research in computer science: broadly understood artificial intelligence and human-technology interaction. .

    Abstract: This book contains 13 chapters in which you can find various examples of the development of methods and/or systems supporting medical diagnostics and therapy, related to biomedical imaging, signal and image processing, biomechanics, biomaterials and artificial organs, modeling of biomedical systems, which, as the current research issues, were presented at the 22nd Polish BBE Conference held at the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, Polish Academy of Sciences, in May 2021.     Abstract: This book presents a wide and comprehensive spectrum of issues and problems related to fractional-order dynamical systems. It is meant to be a full-fledge, comprehensive presentation of many aspects related to the broadly perceived fractional-order dynamical systems which constitute an extension of the traditional integer-order-type descriptions. This implies far-reaching consequences, both analytic and algorithmic, because—in general—properties of the traditional integer-order systems cannot be directly extended by a straightforward generalization to fractional-order systems, modeled by fractional-order differential equations involving derivatives of an non-integer order.
