    Abstract: The film presents two pieces of instrumental music and three Albanian folk songs, performed by folk singers and folk musicians of Zur. The instruments used are a lute (sharki), a two-stringed lute (cifteli), a reed-pipe (fyell) and, in the last song, a tambourine (def). The singers and musicians wear the Albanian costume of Zur near Prizren.

    Abstract: Nach einem Instrumentalvorspiel des türkischen Volksmusikorchesters "Çalgi" (Hackbrett, Geige, Klarinette, Lauten, Bechertrommel) werden drei türkische Volkslieder mit Instrumentalbegleitung vorgetragen. Ausführende sind ein Volkssänger sowie mehrere Männer und Frauen.
    Abstract: The Turkish folk music orchestra of Prizren, "Calgi", first performs a piece of instrumental music, then it accompanies three Turkish folk songs sung by a folk singer and several men and women. The orchestra consists of dulcimer, violon, clarinet, lutes, and pot-drum.

    Abstract: Interview mit Scheich Baba Kâzim in albanischer Sprache über seinen abenteuerlichen Lebenslauf: politische Tätigkeit in den Wirren des Balkankrieges 1912, Kampf um ein unabhängiges Albanien, Widerstand gegen Ahmed Zogu; seit 1926 Mitglied des Bektâshî-Ordens, 1940 Baba, 1946 Dede, 1947 Untersuchungshaft, seitdem Oberhaupt der Bektâshî-Derwische in Djakovica.
    Abstract: In an interview at the Bektâshî cloister at Djakovica Sheikh Baba Kâzim describes his adventurous life, including his political activities during the chaos of the Balkan War of 1912, the struggle for an independent Albania, and resistance to Ahmed Zogu. After 1926 he became a Bektâshî and, through a career in various cloisters in Albanien speaking areas, rose to the rank of Dede. Today he is the most important representative of the Bektâshî order in the Balkan countries.

    Abstract: The film presents three Albanian lyrical women's songs and one folk dance from Zur village near Prizren. The songs are sung by five girls to the accompaniment of two tambourines (def). The folk dance, called Dy mollat e kuqe (Two red apples); is performed by a boy and a girl. The name of the dance is symbolical and designates two beautiful persons, a boy and a girl. During the dance the boy and the girl enter into competition, thus expressing their mutual love.

    Abstract: Empfang der Hochzeitsgäste im Hause des Bräutigams, Übergabe der Geschenke, Vorbereiten des Mahls, Tanzen und Singen der Mädchen, Verteilen der Tücher an die Gäste, Abholen der Braut aus dem Nachbardorf, Tanz der Gäste, Abschied der Braut von den Eltern, Ankunft der Braut und Übernahme durch die Schwiegereltern.
    Abstract: The film shows the arrival of the wedding-guests, accompanied by the music of two kettle-drums and two clarinets. The guests hand over wedding-presents. The girls are continuously playing on the def (a kind of small tambourine, beaten with small metallic plates), while the women prepare the meal. The wedding-guests then walk in a procession to the village of the bride, carrying the Albanian national flag. In the village of the bride young and older wedding-guests, arranged in two different groups, perform an Albanian folk dance. The camera also catches the moment when the bride, amid tears, leaves the parental home and enters the carriage which takes her to her husband. Finally we see the bride arriving in the house of the bridegroom.

The first three dances are performed by five young dancers in festive Albanian national dress, the last two by four older dancers in everyday clothes.     Abstract: Mitglieder der Folkloregruppe "Shota" führen zwei Volkstänze auf: 1. Frauentanz von zwei Frauen aufgeführt, von denen die eine auch singt und den Def schlägt. 2. Gruppentanz von Männern und Frauen zum Rhythmus der Trommel aufgeführt. Innerhalb dieses Tanzes zeigen zwei der Männer einen Schwerttanz.
    Abstract: The film presents two Albanian folk dances from Metohija, recorded in Decani village near Pec. The first dance is performed by two women, one dancing, singing, and beating the def, the other dancing and gracefully twisting her arms, hands, and fingers. A group of men then dance to the rhythm of the drum (tupan), which beaten in the open air, produces a particularly plangent sound. During the dance two of the dancers, armed with swords, perform the war dance Kallcoja (sword dance). All the performers, men and women, wear the Albanian national costume.

    Abstract: The film presents three Albanian country folk songs, performed at Djakovica by three Albanian folk singers in national costume: Quamili i Vogel (without instrument), Qazim Berisha (playing a two stringed lute; cifteli), and Ibrahim Krasniqi (playing a twelve-stringed lute; sharki).

    Abstract: The Zikr consists of the initial individual prayer, and the actual Zikr itself, a series of formal prayers following a litany, and rocking movements in rhythm with the prayers. The Zikr ends with the exclamation Hû ("He" = God).

    Abstract: In einem Zimmer eines alten Bürgerhauses in Djakovica werden drei albanische Lieder städtischen Charakters und ein Instrumentalstück von mehreren Sängern und Musikern dargeboten.
    Abstract: The film presents three Albanian urban folk songs and one piece of instrumental music, instances of Albanian folk song and folk music of Kosovo, performed in the town of Djakovica by the following singers and musicians: Qamili i Vögel (without instrument), Uke Currani (without instrument), Qazim Berisha (playing the twelve-stringed lute; sharki), Malush Ahmeti (playing an old accordion, manufactured at the beginning of the century), Hamez Bala (playing the violon), Shani Meta (playing the mandolin), and Ibrahim Tafolli (beating the tambourine; def, daire). The men are assembled in an old town house at Djakovica and wear the costume of the town.

    Abstract: Nach einem formelhaften religiösen "Wechselgespräch" zwischen Vorbeter und Scheich erfolgt durch die Teilnehmer der eigentliche Zikr (vgl. E 1968). Eine Besonderheit des Melâmî-Zikr ist das Absingen religiöser Lieder in albanischer Sprache.
    Abstract: The Zikr of the Melâmî Dervishes resembles the Zikr of the Chalvetî Dervishes (see Film E 1968) with minor differences: After a formalized religious "dialogue" between the precentor and the Sheikh the participants perform the actual Zikr. It includes the repetition of the word God (hû) along with an il- âhî (religious hymn) in Albanien. Occasionally the precentor interrupts the prayer with the recitation of religious formulare. The prayer is accompanied by rocking movements, and ends with the exclamation "Hû" (God).

    Abstract: Eine Tanzgruppe, begleitet vom Volksmusikorchester "Çalgi" (Hackbrett, Geige, Klarinette, Lauten, Bechertrommel), führt drei Tänze auf: 1. Säbeltanz, von vier Männern getanzt, bei dem heute statt Säbeln Tücher verwendet werden. 2. Frauentanz, von sechs Mädchen dargeboten. 3. Reihentanz, von Männern und Frauen aufgeführt.
    Abstract: The film presents three Turkish folk dances, performed at Prizren: one sword dance performed by four men, one dance performed by six girls, with the men sitting on the ground, and one dance performed by couples. The dancers are accompanied by the Turkish folk music orchestra of Prizren, "Calgi", consisting of dulcimer, violon, clarinet, lutes, and pot-drum.

    Abstract: Anlaß der in den Filmen E 2201 und E 2202 wiedergegebenen Zeremonie war der erste Europa-Besuch des Dalai Lama am 9. Oktober 1973 in Rikon/Schweiz. Die Gläubigen bitten den Dalai Lama "fest zu verweilen", d. h. lange zu leben und sich auch nach seiner gegenwärtigen Existenz immer wieder neu zu verkörpern, bis alle Lebewesen vom Leid erlöst sind.
    Abstract: The film, composed of two parts (E 2201 and E 2202), presents the greater part of a ceremony held on 9th October 1973 in a big camp at Rikon (Switzerland) on the occasion of the Dalai Lama's first visit to Europe. At this ceremony hundreds of faithful entreat "perpetual presence" of the Dalai Lama, i. e. that he may live long and return to our world, after the extinction of his actual existence, in successive incarnations, until all beings are delivered from suffering.
