    Abstract: Junge Männer versammeln sich zu dem von einer Nachbar-Ethnie übernommenen Goli-Maskentanz. Vor dem Männerchor treten paarweise dreimal Masken unterschiedlicher Bedeutung (z. B. Tiermasken) auf. Die Sänger verlocken die Masken mit Gesang und Rasselschlagen zum Tanzen. Zwischen Masken und Chor entsteht dabei eine rege Interaktion.

    Abstract: Im Dorf Asuakro tanzt ein Ballett junger Männer zur Begleitung dreier Trommeln. Dazwischen bewegt sich der Gbagba-Vogel. Nacheinander erfolgt der Auftritt der Schafsmaske, der roten Maske (Mandingo-Sklavin), der schwarzen (Baule-Herrin) und der weißen Maske (Europäerin).
    Abstract: Both animals and people are parodied in the gbagba dance. Performers include a sheep mask, three masks who imitate women of various tribes, and a figure disguised as a cowherd who makes fun of the other masks.

    Abstract: An den Sportstätten ihrer Wohnsiedlungen führen Minenarbeiter nach ihren ethnischen Gruppen (Betschuana, Setapo, Babwa, Zulu, Shangaan, Chopi, Baca) Tänze ihrer Heimatgebiete auf. Begleitet werden sie teilweise von Gesang oder Instrumenten: Xylophon, Rassel, Trommel, Ziehharmonika. Der Tanz der Zulu beinhaltet einen Maskenauftritt.
    Abstract: At the sports complex of their housing estates the miners perform the traditional dances of their ethnic groups (Bechuana, Setapo, Babwa, Zulu, Shangaan, Chopi, Baca). They are partly accompanied by singing or instruments: xylophone, rattle, drum, accordion. The Zulu dance includes a mask performance.

    Abstract: Zwei junge Männer helfen sich gegenseitig bei der Körperbemalung. Mit roter Urucú-Farbe und schwarzer Rußfarbe malen sie kunstvolle Muster auf Haut und Haar. Anschließend wird kurz der Anlaß der Bemalung, die zu den Javarí-Übungen gehörenden Tänze, gezeigt.
    Abstract: Two young men help each other in painting their body. With red urucú dye and black soot they paint elaborate designs on their skin and their hair. Finally the film shows briefly the reason for the painting, the dancing associated with javarí exercises.

    Abstract: Maskentanz im Dorf Jidio: Auftritt einer Sängergruppe, der roten Elefantenmaske, eines unmaskierten Mannes und einer roten, menschlichen Maske. Weitere Masken sind: Antilopenmasken, eine Affenmaske und eine Büffelmaske. Die Masken und einige Unmaskierte tanzen zeitweise gemeinsam, zeitweise allein. Wechselgesang der Elefantenmaske mit einem unmaskierten Begleiter und Auftritt der Bongo-Antilope mit ihren langen Hörnern.
    Abstract: In the dje mask dance of the Guro a large number of animal and spirit masks perform - a contrast to the dje dance of the Baule in which a large buffalo mask is the only participant.

    Abstract: Rekonstruktion der Roggenernte auf der Nordseeinsel Fanoe. Vier Frauen in Erntemasken arbeiten in stark gebückter Haltung in einer Reihe. Der geschnittene Roggen wird in Garben zusammengebunden, die in Haufen aufgestellt werden. Die trockenen Garben werden in Leinentragetüchern auf dem Rücken nach Hause gebracht. Mit Zeitdehnung.

    Abstract: Eine Frau überträgt eine Zeichnung auf Pappe und sticht sie mit Stecheisen aus. Auf Stickrahmen wird das Arbeitsstück und darauf die angestochene Zeichnung befestigt. Das so vorgegebene Muster wird in der Sprengtechnik mit Goldfaden überstickt. Die fertige Stickerei (ein schwarzes Samtmieder) wird auf der Unterseite mit dem Hammer geklopft und mit Stärke gesteift.
    Abstract: A woman transfers a design to a piece of pasteboard and pricks it out with a punch. The fabric is then mounted into a frame and the pasteboard pattern on to it. The design is embroidered with gold thread in couching or laid work. The finished embroi-dery (a black velvet bodice) is beaten with a hammer on the reverse side and stiffened with starch.
