    Abstract: Fausto Añapa de la Cruz aus Zapallo Grande kehrt im Einbaum mit einem Stück der Wurzel eines Cedro-Baums (Cedrela odorata) nach Hause zurück. In seinem Haus schnitzt er aus diesem Holz ein Gürteltier (dasypodidae). Er benutzt dafür eine Machete und ein Messer. Neben ihm läuft das Alltagsleben weiter.

    Abstract: An drei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen stellt Vicente Tapuyo San Nicolás aus Zapallo Grande mit einer Axt und einer Krummaxt einen Kinder-Einbaum aus dem Holz des Guadaripo-Baums (Ocotea sp.) her. Die Einbäume sind aus dem Alltag der Chachilla und ihrer Nachbarn nicht wegzudenken und werden auf vielfältige Weise benutzt.
    Abstract: Vicente Tapuyo San Nicolás of Zapallo Grande takes 3 days to make a dugout canoe using an axe and wood of a Guadaripo tree (Ocotea sp.). Dugouts are central for the Chachilla people and are used in many ways.

Nach dem Trocknen und Brennen im Brennhaufen bestreicht sie die noch warmen Gefäße mit Kopal und malt mit Urucú ein rotes Zickzackband auf.
    Abstract: An old woman mixes clay with crushed charcoal made from bark, she forms a flat bottom and coils the sides, which are smoothed by hand and using the fruit of a tree. After pitfiring she coats the still warm pots with copal (resin) and paints a zig-zag decoration.

    Abstract: Ein Mann entrindet einen dünnen Ast und schnitzt ihn zu einem Bogenstab. Dann schabt und löst er mit einem flachen Bambusmesser die inneren Fasern eines Bromelia-Blattes frei, dreht daraus eine dünne Saite und befestigt sie am Bogenstab. Beim Spiel hält er ein Bogenende in den Mund und zupft mit einem Finger die Saite.
    Abstract: A man makes the bow and first he has to pick out in the forest a thin branch from an unspecified tree to act as the bow stave. He makes the bow string from the Bromelia leaf by first separating the inner fiber with a bamboo stick. The Bromelia strands he twists over to make a thin string. He then ties the twisted string to the stave and begin to play by holding one end of the bow in his mouth and touching the string with one finger.

    Abstract: Ein Mann aus Cusuimi stellt eine Federkrone aus Haut und Flügeln des Hellroten Ara her: Er flicht die zylinderförmige Kronenbasis aus gespaltenen Lianenstreifen, drillt auf dem Oberschenkel dünne Fäden aus den Fasern einer Bromeliaceen-Art, näht damit Haut und Flügel auf die Basis und schneidet das Gefieder zurecht.
    Abstract: A young and intelligent Shuara makes a festive feather crown from the skin and wings of the red macaw parrot he had killed. He begins to work by preparing strands of split liana which will be used to plait the base of the crown. He next prepars the thin thread of the strands of chambira by twisting them over his thigh. With this thread he sews on the skin and the wings of the birds to the plaited base, then deftly cutting the somewhat formless bird skin into the desired shape.
