    Kurzfassung: In Kindheit und Jugend ist eine Auseinandersetzung mit ästhetischen Darstellungs- und Wahrnehmungsweisen hochgradig relevant. Die Bedeutsamkeit ästhetischer Positionierungen - etwa durch die Wahl der Kleidung oder Accessoires, durch Make-up oder technische Geräte - kann einerseits als Anzeichen einer sehr erfolgreichen Kommerzialisierung von Kindheit und Jugend gedeutet werden. Andererseits zeugt sie aber auch von einem Gespür, mit dem sich Kinder und Jugendliche die Alltagswelt, in der sie leben, zu eigen machen. Um die sozialen Verhältnisse von Ästhetiken, Ökonomien und Generationenbeziehungen in den Blick zu nehmen, versammelt dieser interdisziplinäre Band Forschungsperspektiven zu Alltagsästhetiken in Kindheit und Jugend.

    Kurzfassung: Die Bedeutung des transnationalen deutsch-türkischen Raumes wächst und parallel dazu das Interesse an seiner Erforschung. Bildungsinstitutionen sind ein Teilaspekt der fortschreitenden Transnationalisierung. Die AutorInnen diskutieren, inwiefern deutsche, türkische und deutsch-türkische Bildungsinstitutionen zum Aufbau von transnationalem Bildungskapital (Sprach-, Fach-, Landes- und Kulturkenntnisse) beitragen. Eröffnet die Verortung in transnationalen Räumen Schulen und Universitäten im Zeitalter von Globalisierung und Migration neue Möglichkeiten der Profilbildung? Erleichtert dies den Umgang mit Heterogenität?     Kurzfassung: Wissenschaftliche und bildungspolitische Diskurse sind seit geraumer Zeit durch Gegensätzlichkeiten gekennzeichnet, die sich im Spannungsfeld einer zunehmenden Standardisierung und Destandardisierung bewegen. Diese, insbesondere die Bildungssysteme und -institutionen kennzeichnenden Dynamiken sind eingebettet in eine zunehmende Pluralisierung individueller Bildungsbiographien. Der vorliegende Sammelband fragt nach den Auswirkungen dieser Prozesse auf die Reproduktion und Transformation sozialer Bildungsungleichheit. Das Spannungsfeld von Standardisierung und Destandardisierung wird aus makro-, meso- und mikroanalytischer Perspektive sowie in verschiedenen Feldern des Bildungswesens in den Blick genommen: Von Interesse sind übergreifende Dynamiken auf der Ebene der Bildungsstrukturen und Bildungsverläufe.     Kurzfassung: Educational change and reform on a larger scale Bourdieu for Educators: Policy and Practice, brings the revolutionary research and thinking of Pierre Bourdieu (1930[en]2002) of France to public educational leaders in North America, Canada, Australia, and the U.K. This text brings Bourdieu's corpus into the arena of elementary and secondary educational reform and change, and offers policy, research, and practice discussions. Authors Fenwick W. English and Cheryl L. Bolton use Bourdieu to challenge the standards movement in different countries, the current vision of effective management, and the open market notion connecting pay to performance. The text shows that connecting pay to performance won't improve education for the poorest group of school students in the U.S., Canada, or the U.K., regardless of how much money is spent trying to erase the achievement gap. The authors layout the bold educational agenda of Pierre Bourdieu by demonstrating that educational preparation must take into account larger socioeconomic-political realities in order for educational change and reform to make an impact.
