    Kurzfassung: The essay is devoted to reconstructing the events of the Istituto di Studi superiori, especially from an institutional and political point of view. It highlights its specificity on an administrative and financial level compared to the characteristics of the national university system. Although the Florentine leadership did not achieve full autonomy for the Institute, the situation brought about by the law of 1872 made it possible to achieve significant results on a scientific and cultural level. However, the growing need to adapt to the university system and the financial difficulties led to a crisis by the end of the 19th century

    Kurzfassung: The article describes the history of higher education in Florence from the beginning of the twentieth century until the mid-1920s, when the ancient Institute of Higher Studies, founded in 1859, was transformed into a modern University. The development of the university institution is reconstructed through the detailed analysis of the annual reports presented by the superintendents of the Institute and making use of the unpublished documents preserved in the historical archives of the University. Particular attention is paid to the evolution of the number of enrolled students and graduates, as well as to the expansion of the training offer made possible by the opening of new faculties and new laboratories. Finally, the article focuses on some important professors, such as the physicist Antonio Garbasso who was also mayor of Florence, and the historian Gaetano Salvemini who was one of the leaders of the anti-fascist movement and, due to his political positions, in 1925 he was forced to leave the University to emigrate to the United States

    Kurzfassung: The paper shows how the University of Florence interpreted the relative autonomy granted by the numerous reforms of the last 30 years, focusing on the three main functions of the university: teaching, research and public engagement. The continuous reforms weakened the processes of innovation introduced at the beginning of the 90s, with the experience of the Diploma, and forced the closure of many quality degree courses. The lack of financial and instrumental resources and the “autonomy without responsibility” limited the enhancement of the resources and knowledge present in the University, hindered the pursuit of strategic lines that reward structures and sectors of excellence and strengthen the weakest areas. The public engagement is still relatively marginal

La presente edizione esplora le modalità con cui i governi, le aziende e gli istituti di istruzione africani possono incrementare l'offerta di competenze di qualità, in linea con la domanda attuale e futura, per creare occupazione e aumentare la produttività. Le tendenze a livello globale, quali la transizione digitale e la transizione verde, assieme alla crescita demografica dell'Africa e alla regionalizzazione del commercio internazionale, stanno dando forma alla domanda futura di competenze. Due capitoli del rapporto esaminano le carenze di competenze di base, trasversali e tecniche e identificano le soluzioni strategiche per sviluppare una forza lavoro qualificata a livello del continente. The progressive digitalization of our societies led the European legislator, in 2006, to reformulate the framework of key competences, introducing digital competence among the new knowledge that school has to promote. Of course, both future and in-service teachers need to be prepared to favour students’ digital skills. This brought the European Commission to release in 2017 the DigCompEdu framework. The project, born almost by chance to support the condition of professional fragility caused by the pandemic, has favored the search for a new model which, through the integration of virtual methods, has expanded and enriched the training opportunities for future teachers by implementing courses unpublished. From the point of view of educational and scientific research, it was a question of experimenting, evaluating and developing differentiated professional learning practices through the comparison between innovative tools and traditional tools in order to achieve a reasoned integration

In order to achieve this objective, Tuscan associations have been mapped using five different mapping methods. Only one association was found through this mapping.     Kurzfassung: Nowadays, scientific literacy is a key aspect for active citizenship and for making informed decisions regarding scientific issues of everyday life. However, the PISA 2018 data highlight the low scientific competence of the upper secondary school students, underlining the need to foster STEM teaching. In particular, the use of the so-called X-Reality for acquiring scientific skills and to increase interest in the discipline seem promising. During the first year of my PhD, I carried out a scoping review on STEM teaching with X-Reality in the context of secondary school. The main purpose was to draw a state-of-the-art regarding X-Reality use, focusing on potential, critical aspects and challenges. After the search and selection process, 10 articles were included in the analysis. The results showed the effectiveness of X-Reality in promoting the achievement of learning objectives, the interest in the discipline and the long-term retention of knowledge. These results will be the starting point for setting up the empirical part of the PhD project

    Kurzfassung: The chapter presents a case study based on the design, development, and testing of an interactive 360° video applied to the teaching of Sensory Analysis of Food at the University of Florence. The case study describes the design of 360° video storyboards and the creation of the video by the use of 360° cameras for reproducing a sensory laboratory environment. Video enrichment with Vivista, an educational software allowing lecturers to embed interaction points (e.g. quizzes, texts, images) within the 360° videos is also described. Different immersive modalities for the use of the videos with students in different contexts are described and discussed. The chapter concludes with a reflection on the opportunities that 360° videos may provide to university students for practice and experience

    Kurzfassung: In August 2021, a questionnaire was sent to all those who had participated in the presentation meetings of the Integrated Digital Direct Internship Experimental Project (TDDI), a questionnaire to identify the objectives achieved. The survey was sent to 99 schools, 238 subjects including teachers, trainees and headteachers and to 18 university tutors of the Course of Studies in Primary Education at the University of Florence. The survey obtained 186 responses and allowed an initial evaluation of the results in relation to the target actually involved and informed of the experimental path. The focus is to detect the level of satisfaction of the subjects actually involved and to highlight how much TDDI can meet the expectations of school managers, teachers, students

    Kurzfassung: The essay highlights the vast inherent power of education and research on education in and for adulthood - making use of the presentation and discussion of a Case Study -. This Case Study deals with the educational needs that is for the quality of the services of an elderly home in a City in northern Italy. The Case Study was conducted consistently with the theoretical-methodological framework of Grounded Theory and Participatory Research-Action. It allows us to capture "in nuce" some of the processes of generative and human change that can be shaped by clarifying the need/willingness to make improvements at the level of In-Service Training, School Training, and the elderly home organization. In sum, it emerges an awareness of the transformative value intrinsic in the "caring" professions. Lastly, the limitations of the research - conducted in COVID-19 time - and also the multiplicity of factors that triggered this beginning of change are considered, as well as the difficult implications of this work, given the dramatic challenges of the current socio-historical and geopolitical context

The teachers asked students to create a circle where some images are putted into. Students are asked to choose one of them and to write a words the image suggest them. The image is not contextualized and it shows daily item as a glass of milk or common action as petting an animal. Only afterward the teacher is going to contextualize the image: the glass of milk rapresent the amount of calories (184) assumed by prisoners in concentration camp. While many speak of "adultescenza" (adult-adolescent) to describe the situation of those who interpret their adulthood in adolescent terms, today, we have, in one way, less certainty, in another way, more possibilities. For example, social sciences assign adolescents the task of choosing, where reality confirms that the choices taken in adolescence are not "for life," but circumstantial. Adolescents, rather, discover; adults rediscover.     Kurzfassung: The use of digital devices in education is increasing. The literature, however, reveals a disadvantage of digital compared to paper in performing specific learning tasks, in particular text comprehension, which is probably sustained by a different cognitive load and a tendency to use digital for superficial and fast reading. The present study investigates possible differences between paper and digital text comprehension in children of school-age by analysing the role of Executive Functions (EF) as mediating factors in performance. 175 children in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade were assessed for text comprehension in the two modes and assessed with EF tests. The results show that there are no differences between digital and paper text comprehension. However, dividing the sample into children with low and children with high levels of text comprehension, the former group is seen to benefit from digital compared to the latter group, which shows an opposite trend. Furthermore, the low performers score worse than high performers in the EF measures which show a mediating role between performance level and differences between paper and digital modes in text comprehension. The present study has important educational implications for the use of digital devices in education

    Kurzfassung: The poster describes the first phase of a research on the impact of Service-Learning on in-service and future teachers and educators, as mentioned in the research questions. This study started with a literacy review about Service-Learning, in both national and international framework. The Italian way of Service-Learning has been further investigated, using the work of Don Milani as a cultural reference. The research continued with an analysis of the normative and national literature about this approach. It is followed by a systematic review concerning the research questions, making use of Prisma statement. Four different databases were used for the investigation. As result of using a list of inclusion/exclusion criteria, 60 studies were eligible for full text analysis. The results underlined a lack of studies focusing on the Italian context, and a strong unbalance between studies concerning in-service teachers and pre-teachers. Results will orient the empiric part of the research for future steps

The oldest or most significant ones, with archival materials, photos and publications, have been exhibited at the Humanities Library. This volume illustrates the exposition and the outcome of this original documentation, thus allowing to define the peculiarities of the Florentine reality, offering the opportunity for further studies and giving visibility to women who have played a substantial role in the Italian culture, so as to not lose their memory

    Kurzfassung: The separative logic is not educational. The essay reviews the historical events that have generated an undervaluation of vocational training pathways compared to education pathways. This "minority" of perception and legislation stems from a logic of separation with many faces which, taken all together, with etiological spirit and historical-ordinamental contextualization, explain the "untenable" inferiority of vocational education: people (the 'inferiors') and political-bureaucratic elite (the 'superiors'), nature and culture, man and citizen, etc. These separations concerned the idea of labor (one among them, the opposition between 'manual labor' and 'intellectual labor') and did not allow for increasing the educational power of it. Only a logic of integration (embedded and embodied) can defuse the ideas of separation and provide an organic and holistic image of education

    Kurzfassung: In view of the increasing number of social enterprises in recent years, the European Commission (2020) has undertaken a mapping study (2014-2020) of social ecosystems in order to understand their evolution, activities, and professional profiles. In Italy, workers in social enterprises account for 53% (ISTAT 2020) of the majority of which consist of/include workers in the social and care services. It is specifically within these services that the «value of knowledge and skills that are not only specifically technical-professional but also strategic and transversal, cognitive and metacognitive, reflective» (Epifani 2003, 23) is becoming increasingly important, in line with the current indications of the European Skills Agenda (European Commission 2021). This phenomenon concerns even more particularly the intermediate functions, i.e. those support positions, which in part hold management and coordination functions (Abhervé and Dubois 2009). In light of this framework, this study investigates the figure of the personal services coordinator, i.e. a second-level professional who, working both in the educational and in the managerial, combines his actions between very different areas of competence

The work of the European Commission to address the improvement and adaptation of the skills of European citizens provides clear guidelines on which Higher Education is also called to commit. Among them, this paper focuses on the development of entrepreneurial skills, i.e. the ability to act on opportunities and ideas and to transform them into value for others. The Commission calls for the development of these competences at all levels of education, giving rise to entrepreneurial education training offers (Lackéus 2015). For this reason, and in order to respond to this need, since 2013 the Italian Ministry of University has established the Contamination Labs, places of contamination between students, teachers and local stakeholders aimed at developing interdisciplinary entrepreneurial education, which is also the subject of this research

    Kurzfassung: This study is aimed to report the qualitative data collected as part of a larger evaluation research project on educational contexts for disabilities. The sample consists of 161 pre-service teachers completing their education at the University of Florence, who were asked to indicate strengths and weaknesses in the implementation of their own inclusive teaching practices (TEIP). This study focuses on a few specific areas according to the existing literature that sees teaching practices, collaboration between school staff and families, and behavior management as related elements for defining inclusive environments and attitudes. The integration of quantitative and qualitative data collected and analyzed separately explains all the elements that may contribute to self-efficacy toward school inclusion, such as the subject-specific support teacher preparation and the quality of collaboration within the working group for inclusion whose impact relates to the level of engagements achieved by students that can increase chances of success of the educational project

The main agents are the teachers themselves: European mobility, both physical and virtual, improves their professional practice and helps to develop their sense of belonging to a European teaching and learning community. Despite the central role played by teachers in the integration of national education systems into the European Education Area, the profile and the key competencies of the ‘European teacher’ have not been defined in European Union policy documents

Disse blant flere spørsmål blir stilt i antologien, som undersøker barns og unges livstolkning fra et flerfaglig perspektiv. På bakgrunn av fiktive fremstillinger, dialogmøter og fortellinger drøfter forskere fra idrettsfag, litteratur, KRLE og pedagogikk hvordan barn og unge forstår livet. Artiklene tar også for seg planverk og lærebøker og drøfter hvordan voksensamfunnet bidrar i barns og unges livstolkning. Antologien forutsetter at barn og unge har en form for etisk tenkning når de reflekterer over egne livsvilkår. Den legger også til grunn at voksne som er del av barnas hverdag, har ansvar for å gi barna redskap til denne etiske tenkningen. The authorities want students' achievements and completion of degrees to increase. We -as teachers in HE - are challenged to improve students' abilities to reason and to prepare for practical applications, whether we are working on conventional theoretical topics in professional education or in continuing education. The authors of this book believe that the work of teaching with these expectations in mind is not just about professional practice, but about practical matters in a broad sense. Students are active in many ways, and they learn and work in the contexts in which they move, so the experiences and insights that they bring with them and then create by acquiring competences also make them practitioners themselves. One of our central educational tasks is to help them to recognize self-worth, that is, to see themselves in the mirror of knowledge, values and skills that higher education can offer them. The book contains examples of how students can work practically and in research, from R&D projects about learning to theoretical contributions. Myndighetene ønsker at graden av mestring og gjennomstrømming øker, og at arbeidskraften er optimalt tilpasset dagens marked og framtidas uvisse krav om å være fleksibel, lærevillig og ha generelle kompetanser. En universalløsning er å gjøre studiene mer «praksisnære». Vi utfordres til å få studenter bedre i stand til å resonnere og forberede seg for «det praktiske», enten vi arbeider med konvensjonelle teoretiske emner, i profesjonsutdanninger eller i etterutdanning. Forfatterne av denne boka tar utgangspunkt i at arbeidet med å gjøre undervisningen – og dermed studiene – praksisnære ikke bare handler om yrkespraksis, men om praksis i vid forstand.     Kurzfassung: "The student is becoming a teacher is presenting the first Norwegian study made on the sense of belonging in higher education. Central themes are comprehension and knowledge development, and the students’ process of formation is essential, without it being explicit in all the articles. The authors are concerned with interplay between techne and fronesis related to individual growth and professional development. The informants of these studies are teacher students from year 1-4, resulting in a wide range of new knowledge and theoretical viewpoints. In this anthology, the question of the dualism between theory and practice is raised. Could it be that knowledge is a circular production from practise to theory and back? It is also evident that the sensation of social belonging is closely connected to a sense of academic belonging, and that the cohesion of teacher students and their teachers is of great impact. The target group of this peer-reviewed anthology is teacher students and teacher student educators. However, these articles will also be relevant for other educational groups and students. "
    Kurzfassung: "Studenten skal bli lærer presenterer den første norske studien av tilhørighet i høyere utdanning. Forståelse og utvikling av kunnskap er sentrale temaer, og studenters danning belyses, uten at danning blir eksplisitt diskutert i alle bidragene. Mange av forfatterne er opptatt av samspillet mellom episteme, techne og fronesis i forhold til den enkeltes vekst og profesjonelle kompetanseutvikling. Med lærerstudenter fra 1.–4. årskull som informanter favner artiklene bredt og gir ny kunnskap og nye teoretiske vinklinger. I antologien stilles det blant annet spørsmål ved dualismen som ofte påpekes mellom teoretisk og erfaringsbasert kunnskap. Kanskje er det heller sånn at kunnskap produseres sirkulært mellom forelesningssal og praksisfeltet? Videre fremgår det også at opplevelsen av sosial tilhørighet ser ut til å være en forutsetning for akademisk tilhørighet, og at medstudenter sammen med faglærere har stor betydning. Denne fagfellevurderte antologien retter seg hovedsakelig mot lærerutdanningen og lærerutdannere. Men bidragene kan også være aktuelle for andre utdanninger, og for studenter."

    Kurzfassung: "More and more people have to write in their jobs, and some need to write for publication. Students must learn to write in new genres, and their teachers not only need to write but also help others develop their own writing. Even though writing is often essential for learning a discipline and developing a professional identity, these aspects are often overlooked in academic settings. A surprising number of us struggle with writing, and often do so alone. Writing touches upon deeply personal processes concerning who we are in the eyes of others and how we view ourselves. This book elucidates the creative and subjective sides of professional and academic writing, which are in fact quite similar to those of literary writing. In the interview material, students and researchers share their experiences of the difficulties and the joys of writing, as well as personal decisions they have made in the course of becoming creative writers in their fields. In the discussion, a conceptual repertoire is developed from the philosophy of education, theories of identity development and recognition, to transcend the common belief that writing is something we either can or cannot master. The book will be of use to those who help others to write, and a source of inspiration for those who struggle with their own writing. The author is director of the Academic Writing Centre at the University of Oslo Library and editorial director of the website Søk & Skriv (Search & Write). She holds a doctoral degree in the philosophy of education and has many years’ experience as a university lecturer, supervisor and professional academic writer."
    Kurzfassung: "Stadig flere mennesker har yrker der de må skrive, og noen må skrive for å publisere. Studenter må lære seg å skrive i nye sjangre, og lærerne deres må ikke bare skrive selv, men også hjelpe andre med å gjøre det. Selv om det å skrive ofte er vesentlig for å tilegne seg et fag og en faglig identitet, er disse sidene ved arbeidet som regel lite belyst innenfor den faglige virksomheten. Overraskende mange sliter med å skrive, og de gjør det ofte alene. Skriving berører dypt personlige prosesser som angår hvem vi er for andre og hvordan vi ser på oss selv. Boka retter søkelys mot de kreative og subjektive sidene ved skriveprosessen i faglitterær skriving, som viser seg å ikke være så forskjellige fra den skjønnlitterære skrivingen. Her intervjues studenter og forskere som setter ord på det vanskelige ved skriveprosessen, gledene ved skriving og beslutningene underveis i utviklingen mot å bli en faglig, kreativ skriver. Gjennom pedagogisk-filosofiske diskusjoner om identitet, anerkjennelse og viktige overganger tilbyr boka et forståelsesrepertoar som overskrider forestillingen om at skriving er noe man enten er god eller dårlig til. Is there a relationship of influence between the relationships mediated by the digital contexts and the social climate of a learning environment? What kind of influence? How much do students rely on digital-enriched relationships to satisfy their relationship needs? What perception do students and teachers have of relational dynamics mediated by digital contexts?     Kurzfassung: Conceived on the occasion of the first edition of "Unimc for Inclusion", an initiative promoted by the University of Macerata, the volume intends to propose, in a single collective work, theoretical coordinates and operational trajectories applicable in plural contexts, including training whether they are educational, aggregated or residential. The paradigm of inclusion is therefore investigated on the basis of its declinations, as well as multiple perspectives of research, through a variety of thematic insights. Implementation challenges, laboratory proposals and design hypotheses that come to life in the text, offering the reader practical ideas for reflection and experimentation with an inclusive character. For these reasons, this book is particularly recommended to pedagogues, teachers and educators, both in training and in service, because in their profession they are constantly called upon to engage in "inclusion tests"

    Kurzfassung: "The book discusses various challenges and solutions related to the coordination of health and welfare services. Coordination is central to creating integrated services for users with complex needs. In order to understand the challenges and opportunities associated with creating such services, one needs knowledge related to organizations and the organizational context. The book's chapters takes on an organizational perspective where patterns and explanations are sought in formal and informal structures, processes and culture. The users’ need for services often cross established boundaries, both organizational and professional. The authors highlight the possibilities and limitations of some selected solutions that will help to cut across or break down such boundaries. Examples of such solutions are user involvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, team organizations, coordinators, standardization and patient pathways, digitization and decision-making tools for employees who work in the services. One chapter summarizes three different theoretical research approaches for analyzing coordination and collaboration. The target group is researchers, university and college employees and students of the health and welfare sector. The book also will be of interest for user organizations as well as administrative and professional decision-makers in public and private businesses."
    Kurzfassung: "I TIMSS Advanced, en studie av elevers kunnskaper i det siste året i videregående skole, var de norske elevenes kompetanse i fysikk helt i verdenstoppen i 1995, noe som ble lagt merke til både nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Siden den gang har det vært en dramatisk nedgang i de norske elevenes prestasjoner. I TIMSS Advanced 2015 målte vi en tilbakegang i elevenes kunnskapesnivå i fysikk på trekvart standardavvik fra 1995. Det er en større nedgang enn vi i Norge har målt i noe annet fag i noen andre internasjonale studier, på noe nivå i skolen. Norge har deltatt i TIMSS Advanced i videregående skole og i TIMSS i grunnskolen jevnlig siden 1995. Vi har derfor en stor databank som gir oss muligheter til å studere og analysere utviklingen i Norge fra 1995 fra mange ulike synsvinkler og perspektiver. Mange av de utfordringene vi står overfor i dag, blant annet når det gjelder miljøet, kan kun løses gjennom forskning og kunnskapsutvikling innen fysikk og andre realfag. Vi trenger å utdanne folk med gode kunnskaper på dette området. At de norske elevenes fysikkprestasjoner har sunket dramatisk fra 1995 til 2015, er derfor bekymringsfullt. I boka tar vi opp og drøfter mange ulike sider for hvordan vi kan bedre de norsk elevenes kunnskaper i fysikk. Et viktig moment er at vi mener Norge har gode muligheter til å bedre undervisningen i fysikk og andre realfag. Vi greide å heve lesenivået blant norske elever gjennom systematisk samarbeid over tid med alle involverte aktører. Vi kan gjøre et tilsvarende løft for realfagene. Det vil være til det beste både for den enkelte elev og for samfunnet som helhet."
