Dance practices and attitudes about ethnicity have sometimes been the source of outright discord, such as when African Americans were - and sometimes still are - told that their bodies are "not right" for ballet, when Anglo Americans painted their faces black to perform in minstrel shows, when nineteenth-century Christian missionaries banned the performance of particular native dance traditions throughout much of Polynesia, and when the Spanish conquistadors and church officials banned sacred Aztec dance rituals. Jahrhundert setzte sich dagegen mit der deutschen Erfindung des Libero eine geniale Ingenieurskunst durch, die dem Spiel aus dem Geistesblitz eines Spielmachers heraus seine unnachahmliche Gestalt gab. Und schließlich sehen wir heute mit dem Wirken der holländischen Trainer ein Streben nach Hocheffizienz am Werke, das auf die Bildung komplexer Netzwerkstrukturen setzt. John Stuart Mill, Martin Heidegger und Niklas Luhmann haben hierzu die Stichworte geliefert in einer Klarheit, die ihnen selbst nicht bewusst sein konnte.     Abstract: Olympia ist eine Erfolgsgeschichte, die sich auch im Sommer 2012 in London mit den 30. Spielen der Neuzeit fortsetzen wird. Seit 776 v. Chr. wurden in Olympia die Spiele abgehalten, bis sie 393 n. Chr. verboten wurden. Aber warum wurden sie verboten? Weshalb rief man sie nach 1500 Jahren wieder ins Leben, und warum sprechen wir von Spielen und nicht von Sport? Wolfgang Behringer eröffnet in seiner Kulturgeschichte neue Einblicke in die Geschichte des Sports. Er zeigt uns den jungen Kaiser Karl V. als begeisterten Tennisspieler, Heinrich VIII. von England als Sportfanatiker und den Begründer der modernen Physik, Isaac Newton, als aktiven Boxer. Nach schulischer Ausbildung am Salvatorkolleg und Zivildienst in der Rheumaklinik Bad Wurzach verschlug es ihn im Herbst 2004 zum Studium nach Marburg in Mittelhessen. Das Studium des Lehramts mit den Fächern Englisch, Sport und Pädagogik schloss er im Herbst 2010 erfolgreich ab. Während des Studiums sammelte er Erfahrungen im Umgang mit Kindern, sowohl in der Schule als auch als Verkehrssicherheitstrainer, und engagierte sich in einem Verein zur Förderung der Integration Behinderter. Um sich kulturell und sprachlich weiterzubilden, arbeitete er von März bis August 2009 auf Bauernhöfen in England. Nach dem Studium erfolgte ein Aufenthalt auf Zypern, wo (traditionelle) Kulturtechniken und Aspekte des Naturschutzes im Vordergrund standen. Seine Affinität zur Weiterentwicklung motorischer Fähigkeiten in allen Lebensbereichen brachte ihn praktisch bereits zu Beginn des Studiums zum Parkour; die theoretisch-soziologische Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema war, ob der Lehre der Bewegungs- und Sportwissenschaften in Marburg, eine mehr als schlüssige Konsequenz.

Prominente Dopingfälle und eine Typologie der verschiedenen Maßnahmen gegen dopende Sportler bilden den Einstieg in das Thema. Die verschiedenen in Betracht kommenden Rechtsgrundlagen der Dopingsanktion im Vereins-, Vertrags- und Arbeitsrecht werden hergeleitet und vorgestellt. Es folgt eine Untersuchung der rechtlichen Kontrollmaßstäbe für Dopingsanktionen. Da bei einer Dopingsanktion auf beiden Seiten Grundrechte betroffen sind, sind verfassungsrechtliche Rahmenbedingungen zu beachten. Dies wirkt sich auf die Anwendung der zivilrechtlichen Kontrollnormen aus. Das Verhältnismäßigkeitsprinzip kann die Rechte der Beteiligten ausgleichen. Dabei lassen sich Elemente, die aus dem Strafprozeß bekannt sind, zivilrechtlich anwenden. Dies hat Folgen für die Formulierung der Dopingtatbestände und die Durchführung des Sanktionsverfahrens in den Sportverbänden. Petri prüft die Zwecke des Dopingverbots und erläutert konkrete Abwägungsmaßstäbe für die verschiedenen Sanktionsarten. Dopingstrafregeln werden anhand zahlreicher Beispiele aus der Praxis im Lichte der zivilrechtlichen Umsetzung von Schuldprinzip, Verschuldensmaßstab und Bestimmtheitsgebot untersucht.
