Abstract:
Seit sich die Menschen der Moderne nicht mehr durch Religion und gemeinsam geteilte Mythen verbunden fühlen, sondern vielmehr den politischen Freiheitsbegriff von 1789 leben und sich mit universell gültigen Menschenrechten ausgestattet sehen, gewinnt im Prozess der Individuierung die selbstorganisierte Solidarität der Bürger, auch als "Solidarität unter Fremden" (siehe Brunkhorst: ID 34/97), an Bedeutung. Der emphatische Solidaritätsbegriff der Arbeiterbewegung ist nur eine Facette eines umfassenderen Solidaritätsbegriffes, der unter dem Aspekt des gegenseitigen Beistandes das Individuum mit der Gesellschaft aussöhnt und zugleich soziale Unterschiede zu beseitigen hilft. Wichtig ist dem Autor, dass der Solidaritätsgedanke als Beistandsverpflichtung eine verfassungsrechtliche und privatrechtliche Dimension hat. Lässt sich diese nun angesichts der großen Herausforderung Globalisierung zu einer "globalen Rechtsgenossenschaft" in der Weltgesellschaft aufbohren? - Für ein akademisches Publikum.
