Parallel Title: Rosellán, Juan Designing natural gas distribution concessions in a megacity
Keywords: Natural gas Transportation ; Natural gas industries ; Natural gas Transportation ; Natural gas industries
Abstract: Private participation in the development of natural gas distribution networks is often introduced through the award of exclusive concessions for defined geographic zones. Designing such franchises in a megacity poses a challenge in striking a balance between economies of scale (few distributors) and information disclosure for regulation (more distributors). Approaches to making these and related tradeoffs are analyzed through a case study of Mexico City

Parallel Title: Fiess, Norbert M Intersectoral dynamics and economic growth in Ecuador
Keywords: Industrial productivity ; Industrial productivity ; Ecuador Economic conditions 1972- ; Ecuador Economic conditions 1972-
Abstract: The authors analyze sectoral growth in Ecuador using multivariate cointegration analysis. They find significant long-run relationships between the agricultural industrial and service sectors. Moreover, they are able to derive dynamic sector models that combine the short-run links between the three sectors with long-run dynamics. Their findings suggest that more attention should be paid to interdependencies in sectoral growth, since an improved understanding of intersectoral dynamics may facilitate the implementation of policy aimed at increasing economic growth in Ecuador--Summary

Keywords: Crime Measurement ; Criminal statistics ; Homicide ; Violence Measurement ; Crime Measurement ; Criminal statistics ; Homicide ; Violence Measurement
Abstract: The Prevalence rate of violence, as measured by such indicators as domestic assault, homicide, and crime victimization, varies widely locally and worldwide, suggesting that violent behavior is modifiable and preventable. Developing standardized, accurate ways to measure and map violence across communities and countries is the first step toward developing programs to prevent it
