    Abstract: Die Entwicklung freigeistiger Organisationen in Deutschland nach 1945 ist bislang unter dem Radarschirm der Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften geblieben. Dabei lassen sich gerade seit der humanistischen Wende in den 1980er Jahren dynamische Wandlungsprozesse innerhalb der Szene wahrnehmen, deren Untersuchung einen wichtigen Beitrag zu interdisziplinären Debatten und öffentlichen Diskursen um das Verhältnis von Religion und Säkularität in der Gegenwart leisten kann. Diese Grounded Theory geleitete Studie entwickelt in diesem Zusammenhang eine Organisationstypologie, mit deren Hilfe nicht nur weltanschauliche Entwicklungen und strategische Spannungen innerhalb der gegenwärtigen freigeistigen Szene offengelegt, sondern auch gängige säkularisierungstheoretische Wahrnehmungsmuster des Gegenstandsfeldes hinterfragt und reinterpretiert werden. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf einer Ethnografie des Humanistischen Verbandes Deutschlands und der Giordano Bruno Stiftung. Die Studie kommt zu dem Ergebnis, das von der einen freigeistigen oder humanistischen „Bewegung“ nicht die Rede sein kann.

    Abstract: This volume, which draws on new sources, presents the Jewish salons of Berlin around 1800 as a lively and at the same time fragile network of communication. The salon society of 1794/95, the book's year of focus, reveals a culture of sociality in which highly diverse venues could become 'salons' and it puts the salons' guests and hostesses (back) in the limelight. Selected profiles of the correspondence, which sometimes lasted for decades and has now been reconstructed, allow an examination of possible interactions between salons and the contemporary discourse on emancipatory issues.

Die vorliegende Studie ermittelt einen ersten durchlaufenden und noch vorexilischen Darstellungszusammenhang, der im 7. Jh. v. Chr. entstanden ist. Entsprechend erklärt sie das Doppelkönigtum Davids über Israel und Juda als eine protodeuteronomistische Gründungsgeschichte der späten Königszeit. Die Untersuchung schließt mit einer redaktionsgeschichtlichen Skizze der Daviderzählungen im zweiten Samuelbuch und einer Revision der geschichtlichen Zeugnisse , Main description: Recent research has led to a weakening of the two classical hypotheses on the story of David's rise and a succession narrative. Instead, attention has focussed on the texts in II Samuel 1-5, which are seen as being of crucial importance for the literary genesis of the story of David. The present study reveals a first continuous account from before the time of exile, which was produced in the 7th century BC. Thus it explains David's double kingship of Israel and Juda as a proto-deuteronomistic foundation narrative from the late Age of Kings.
