Abstract:
Das Hahneköppen findet jedes Jahr am Montag der Haaner Kirmes statt. Beim Hahneköppen wird einem kopfüber in einem Korb hängenden toten Hahn der Kopf abgeschlagen. Den Hahneköppern sind dabei die Augen verbunden, ihr Schwert ist stumpf. Sie werden von den Zurufen der Zuschauer geleitet. Dieser für das Bergische Land sehr typische Brauch wird von der örtlichen Bevölkerung sehr unterschiedlich betrachtet.
Abstract:
Rooster decapitation on the first monday is a feature of the annual Haaner Kirmes (circus in Haan). The dead rooster is hung feet-upwards over a basket. Blindfolded contestants are given a blunt sword and urged on by the crowd.
