Abstract:
Ethnically, the Turks are linked by their common history and language and religion, which is Islam. With the exception of the Turkish tribe called the Yakut, almost all Turks are Muslims. Turks are the predominant ethnic group in Turkey and Turks live in many countries throughout the Middle East and Asia, including Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and China.
