Kurzfassung:
Ein Mann schneidet aus Streifengnuhaut zwei Stücke in grober Sandalenform zurecht. An der Sohle befestigt er vorne Lederbänder, die zwischen der großen und der zweiten Zehe hindurchlaufen, und hinten eine Schlaufe. Schließlich befestigt er die Sandalen an seinen Füßen, indem er die vorderen Riemen beiderseits der Hacke durch die Schlaufe führt und dann über dem Rist zusammenbindet.
Kurzfassung:
A man softens and stretches a piece of wildebeest hide. Selecting the best portions, he cuts two large pieces of skin which he then trims down to the shape of a sandal. He attaches to the sole the front thongs which pass between the first two toes and the leather loop which embraces the heel. Finally he fastens the sandals to his feet by passing the long thongs under the heel strap side of the foot and then tying them over the instep.
