Abstract:
An examination of how Christopher Nolan's Batman triology de-queered the Batman created by Joel Schumacher is offered. While the audience may not be able to identify with the rich white male, on display for much of Nolan's trilogy, there is something safe, comforting and even attainable in these films as opposed to the subversive, queer interpretation that Schumacher presents.
