Abstract:
Join us for a special conversation with Sam Newman and The Staff Engineer's Path author Tanya Reilly to learn why companies need engineers that contribute at a high level as role models—driving big projects, determining technical strategy, and raising everyone's skills. They’ll discuss the three key pillars of the staff engineer role: taking a broad, strategic view when thinking about your work; diving into practical tactics for making projects succeed; and determining what "good engineering" means in your organization. They’ll also explore what it means to be a leader without direct authority, how to plan ahead to make the right technical decisions, and how to make everyone around you better while still growing as an expert in your domain.
