Abstract:
Freut sich, dass er wegen Carl Vogt einen Brief von Baer erhalten habe. Baers eingeschränkte Sehfähigkeit betrübt ihn, auch Tiedemann und Sömmerring hätten darunter gelitten. Letzterer konnte nach einer Operation wieder sehen, und Tiedemann schrieb noch seine "Geschichte des Tabaks und anderer ähnlicher Genussmittel" (Frankfurt/Main 1854). Der Aufsatz von Vogt fand sich an anderer Stelle der Zeitung, in Nr. 43, 1875, den Verfasser des anderen Artikels konnte er nicht ermitteln. Zu Vogt, dessen Affenkomödie nicht mehr geht, und der einen guten Professor in Berlin abgegeben hätte. Darwinianer findet man nun alle paar Tage in Büchern oder der Zeitung. Er danke Gott, dass wir wieder ein deutsches Reich haben. Preußen bekäme nun vom Süden die Freiheit, Berufungsfreiheit und Zivilehe seien auch von südlichen Ländern ausgegangen. Frankfurt sei jetzt Kreisstadt unter Wiesbaden. Dr. Rosenberg könne nach seiner Italienreise davon erzählen. Wissenschaftlich sei er jetzt mit vergleichender Anatomie beschäftigt, ein Aufsatz über "Mensch- und Affen-Schädel" stehe im anthropologischen Archiv. Weitere Arbeiten seien über das Skelett und die Muskeln.
