    Kurzfassung: The European Axis policy remains largely unwritten. Little is known about the factors that united or divided the Fascist regime and the Nazi Reich regarding the post-war order. Furthermore, even less is known about the Italian plans for a fascist Europe, which wartime events soon relegated to the margins of Axis policy. This book reconstructs the debate on the new European order developed from the 1930s to the spring of 1943 by Fascist politicians, philosophers, writers, anthropologists, and geographers. The debate progressed alongside the evolution of the international framework and in parallel with the war. The diachronic examination of these projects, where distinctive elements of Fascist ideology were instrumentally entwined with Latin and Catholic tradition, allows us to recover the thread of relations between Italy and Germany and between Italy and the minor allies of the Axis. The very choice of words - Fascist Europe, Axis Europe, Catholic Europe or Europe of Nations - reflects a shift in the balance of power: from collaboration to competition, from fear to an attempt to regain prominence. In 1943, the idea of a Europe of nations with an explicitly anti-German intent was the final, unrealistic assertion toward a new order where Axis Europe was not just Nazi Europe

    Kurzfassung: The promotion of greater diversity in the socio-demographic profile of the teaching population is the subject of an increasing international interest. However, the perspective of teachers with disabilities/specific learning disorders (SLDs) is still poorly investigated, especially in Italy. The entry of teachers with disabilities/SLDs into the teaching profession can represent a decisive step towards the development of increasingly higher levels of inclusion both in teacher training and in the school setting, also considering the benefits that teachers with disabilities/SLDs can bring in terms of inclusive values and practices. Although, the topic raises some dilemmas and tensions, elicited by the dual mandate of schools and universities, which are called to ensure the quality of: a) the educational offer; b) the professional profile of (student) teachers who (will) work in schools. At the same time, they need to grant (student) teachers the right to use accommodations during their educational and professional career. The volume presents a multi-perspective reflection on the subject, presenting ‒ in particular ‒ two systematic reviews on international research on the topic and an empirical study conducted within the Italian context. The latter investigated the facets underlying the inclusion of (student) teachers with disabilities/SLDs through a multi-method approach

    Kurzfassung: The persistence of a separation in work roles and tasks between men and women, which reproduces the partition between the private sphere, linked to the feminine, and the public sphere, unbalanced on the masculine, is particularly evident in the social, health and educational professions even in the most economically advanced countries, regardless of the welfare structures. Starting from the unequivocal evidence of the numerical prevalence of women in social work - a feature common to all the different conjugations in which the profession is expressed from State to State - the authors discuss the issue of gender in social work from different angles, offering the reader a rich plurality of themes, theoretical concepts and research approaches. National and international researches show the persistence of cultural matrices and gender stereotypes with regard to the division of labour, noticeable already during training, in the mentality of students and trainers, and often also in professionals themselves. The critical reflections of the authors are oriented towards the search for an antidote to the permanence of the status quo, and at the same time towards the development of an advanced mode of social intervention and gender-aware attention, both among professionals and with users and clients of the services. These research paths are offered as a contribution towards developments of a different kind in the multiple fronts of training (university education and lifelong learning), collective and mass media narration, research and reflexivity produced by the professional community of social workers themselves

    Kurzfassung: Bramante’s skill in controlling the creation of a seamlessly conceived space shows how architecture can exploit its representative capacity of internal perspectives, considered architecture integration. The key adopted to reach this result is the “architectura picta” of the built space. It adopts built space combined with small apparatuses to conceal the critical points in which the continuity between real and virtual space is resolved. The multiplication of centers amplifies the effectiveness of the perspective, making it convincing from several points of view, even for a moving observer. The implicit perceptual effect overcomes the geometric correctness, which was neglected to enhance its effectiveness as a tool for creating a global and augmented art “ante litteram”. The research published in this volume documents, through a small number of selected cases studies, the unsuspected development in Lombardy in applying perspective decoration to architecture, understood in the broadest sense as the art of constructing artificial space. This latter consists of controlling the instruments of representation to improve perceptive involvement and visual communication. It underlines the continuity of Milanese perspective with the immersive spaces of augmented reality offered today by digital technology

It is the outcome of the “European funds – a Sustainable Future for Umbria" (ESFU) project, co-financed by the European Commission with the "Support for information measures relating to the EU Cohesion policy” program. Communicating European Union opportunities are essential for the effectiveness of cohesion policy, which aims to promote and support the overall harmonious development of its Member States and regions. However, it is a difficult task when the advantages that want to be reached are so clear. Among these, the contribution of regions and local authorities together with stakeholders, beneficiaries and citizens can increase the possibility of development. While the lack of knowledge can impact the performance of cohesion policy and undermine territory opportunities (local authorities, entrepreneurs, third sector and other actors), determining a low level of participation effectively affects the impact of European regional development and the social fund. The proposal elaborated in this book tries to fill this gap, elaborating a method to facilitate the state of communication strategy at the regional level. Thanks to an interdisciplinary approach that combines knowledge from different disciplinary fields from the legal framework to communication. The volume analyses the actual scenario of the structural fund's communication in the Umbria region to put forward a final proposal to establish a Network on regional European funds, called “REFORE”. It should be a permanent mechanism for acquiring and disseminating information among potential recipients. The proposal thought for the Umbria context is replicable everywhere, shaping to a different environment

In particular, the book analyses: the debate on some contradictory or at least problematic aspects of Petrarch’s statements on love; the tension between literary artificiality and ostentation of sincerity in love letters; the ambiguity between sacred and profane in the encomiastic field, with special reference to the metaphor of the ‘temple’ in the so-called ‘temples of poems’. The path here proposed offers an idea of Petrarchism as a phenomenon less rigid and stereotyped than usually perceived.     Kurzfassung: Fifteenth-century Bologna is one of the major Italian cities, home to a prestigious university and thriving industrial and economic center; in these conditions, ideal for the development of the early typographic art, the market of the manuscript book, with its world of copyists, illuminators, bookbinders, stationaries, soon adapts to the new way of production, fostering between XV and XVI century the emergence of some great families of booksellers-printers-publishers. Since the first decades of the sixteenth century, however, an overwhelming foreign book production is increasingly present on bolognese market: important printers like Vincenzo Valgrisi and Gabriele Giolito establish branches in the city, while in the law book sector the Lyonese publishing industry of Giunti is gaining momentum. The situation changes again in the second half of the century, when the market is remodeled following the conditioning by the ecclesiastical authorities and it extends to social strata previously excluded from cultural consumption. The work, which is based on a detailed investigation of the documentary sources, reconstructs for the first time a social history of the Bolognese book trade, both outlining the events of families and shops operating in the city, and opening the look at the relationships with the large foreign firms

    Kurzfassung: On the tenth anniversary from the death of Professor Cesare Scurati, this volume revamps research and reflection on the conceptual, methodological, and operational contribution that this scholar has offered to education at many levels, from childhood to schooling, from life-wide education to the style and ethics of being an intellectual and a teacher. The richness of the pedagogical fresco accomplished by Scurati pertains to the liveliness of a cultural season – the second half of the Twentieth century –, in which educational ideologies and epistemological fences were overcome. Despite all its contradictions and limitations, in this era Scurati achieved productive and humanistic interpretations of education and schooling. In his studies, Scurati effectively tried to improve the situation of several educational ecosystems, intertwining academic reflection and professional training, educational research, analysis of concrete institutional practices, and inspiration from abroad, especially the Anglo-Saxon world. Drawing and visual Languages seen in the light of the multiple articulations that derive from them. Like a metaphor for language, drawing alludes, illudes, reveals and deceives. Drawing and Distances brings us to the practices of surveying, but also to the meaning of the word distancing, with all that it implies, to help us overcome the insurmountable physical separateness. Drawing and Technologies leads to the evidence of the digital world, viewed in its implications with the different sciences, transforming the computer from an instrument of calculation into an expressive source of communication, even artistic, for the development of a new digital aesthetic. In this volume, disciplines are intertwined, and even research sectors: a perfect path of contamination in which very different competencies come into play.     Kurzfassung: In the rich Western societies, the several crises at the beginning of this century focus on the worsening of old economic and social problems, which have taken on new importance in the cities undergoing a rapid transformation because of the globalization and the new structures of the labor market. These are issues that have called into question the traditional political systems, with significant effects on the evolution of democratic systems. These issues have been raised throughout the 20th century and today they are once again central to the structural transformations aforementioned and to the crisis of the welfare systems built in Europe during the so-called Golden Age. The theme of living in the peripheries reappears in a dramatic way; a problem exacerbated by the fact that today these areas are no longer just those outside the cities (shaped by the processes of the economic modernization of the 19th and 20th centuries) but they deeply characterize the urban fabric and are linked to the existential conditions of those who live there. The book combines historical and geographical perspectives, according to an interdisciplinary approach. It is possible to examine the policies adopted and to be adopted in these territories and the role that social forces and associative networks have played and can play in identifying adequate and durable responses to such complex problems. A long-term view and a more systemic analysis allow a reflection on the relationship between socio-economic development and the processes of construction of the living together in the different contexts of European cities. Social actors, in their various forms, have offered and are able to offer strategic contributions for the production of new development models, in which the quality of life in working-class peripheries and the processes of social inclusion will be once again a priority, as required by the urban agendas of this new millennium

Who and why is against these policies? Which are the "unwanted effects" of these policies? The book is focused on the US trends, where the problem emerged first. Portland, Denver and Minneapolis are considered: three metropolitan regions in different parts of the country but with similar dimensions, characteristics and policies. The conditions that made some outcomes possible are highlighted (the ability to network institutions at multiple levels and to foster the participation of local actors in the land management process), as well as some critical issues and unsolved problems (the exponential growth of real estate costs, the opposition of a part of the local community, the persistence of segregation and inequality forms)

    Kurzfassung: The art of printing with movable type made its appearance in Perugia -then as now, the heart of Italy- in 1471, when the city was under the sway of Braccio Baglioni. Perugia was home to an important university which had been attracting students from all over Europe for more than a century. They found hospitality in two colleges, of which the ‘Sapienza Vecchia’, in particular, was accustomed to accommodating students from abroad. The colleges were themselves instrumental in assisting the work of the earliest printers, all of them foreigners; their enterprise flourished for about fifteen years before strong competition from larger printing centres, notably Venice, took control of the Perugian book market. A second phase in local book production started at the turn of the century under the aegis of two major players, the Cartolari family and Bianchino dal Leone. The history of the book in Perugia is characterized by a quality and originality which is not reflected in the modest quantities produced there, and the major bibliographers have always taken an interest in it. All that and more can be found in this book, the outcome of lengthy research based on detailed analysis of all known editions and archival documents, including a number of new discoveries

This has created great expectations regarding the diagnostic potential and therapeutics in this field; however, to the increased ability to control there is an increasing number of situations that pose serious dilemmas moral standards for researchers, doctors and patients. In the following reflections we will focus our attention on the issues bioethics related to the management of the diagnostic potential expressed by genetic tests. The first part will be dedicated to a brief overview of the state of the art genetic testing from a scientific point of view; the second part will deal with the ethical debate around their uses. The goal we set ourselves, integrating our competences, respectively biological and bioethical ones, is to allow you to acquire an overview of the main guidelines that confront each other in the current bioethical debate, in order to elaborate in our pluralistic context of an adequate ethical-regulatory framework
    Kurzfassung: La “rivoluzione genetica” che ha caratterizzato l’inizio del terzo millennio e la più recente “rivoluzione genomica”1 hanno fatto sì che sempre più aspetti dell’esistenza umana siano diventati oggetto di controllo scientifico e tecnologico. Ciò ha creato grandi aspettative in merito alle potenzialità diagnostiche e terapeutiche in questo campo; tuttavia, alle aumentate capacità di controllo si accompagna un numero crescente di situazioni che pongono seri dilemmi morali per ricercatori, medici e pazienti. Nelle riflessioni che seguono concentreremo la nostra attenzione sulle questioni bioetiche legate alla gestione delle potenzialità diagnostiche espresse dai test genetici. La prima parte sarà dedicata a una breve panoramica sullo stato dell’arte dei test genetici dal punto di vista scientifico; la seconda parte si occuperà del dibattito etico intorno ai loro impieghi. L’obiettivo che ci proponiamo, integrando le nostre competenze, rispettivamente quella biologica e quella bioetica, è di permettere di acquisire una visione d’insieme sui principali orientamenti che si confrontano nell’attuale dibattito bioetico, in ordine all’elaborazione nel nostro contesto pluralistico di un adeguato quadro etico-normativo

What dynamics are involved? What kind of technology is at stake? Is there a relationship of influence between the relationships mediated by the digital contexts and the social climate of a learning environment? What kind of influence? How much do students rely on digital-enriched relationships to satisfy their relationship needs? What perception do students and teachers have of relational dynamics mediated by digital contexts? And what role do they give to the school in this problem?     Kurzfassung: Serious illness prevents many students from attending school on a regular basis and can lead to long-term absence from the classroom. The consequent isolation impedes socialization and educational exchange between homebound students and their schoolmates, as well as interaction with their teachers. Moreover, these students face serious difficulties when they eventually manage to return to school. All these factors slow down homebound students’ learning progress and weaken their sense of belonging to their peer group. In response to these issues, Italy’s Ministry of Education (MIUR), National Research Council (CNR), and the TIM Foundation set up a project in 2013 named TRIS (Networked Technologies and Socio-educational Inclusion). The main aim of the project is to develop a flexible and scalable intervention model for integrating homebound leaners. This is based on active and engaging learning approaches and is designed for application to a wide variety of long–term absence situations. The main pillar of the project is the so-called “Inclusive Hybrid Classroom”, a special blending of physical and digital learning spaces. By facilitating direct engagement in class activities, irrespective of the students’ actual location, this kind of classroom heightens the sense for everyone that the homebound student is actively present in the classroom

    Kurzfassung: The volume aims to provide an updated overview of School Geography as an inclusive knowledge. As teachers and citizens, we daily deal with the differences we meet. Working and living with a group of students implies, in fact, working and living in contact with the difference, defined by its dimensions: gender, physical ability, cultural heritage, social or economic backgrounds. Following this perspective, the “Officine didattiche” are thought of as a powerful opportunity in fostering the integration between methodological frameworks and educational practices. Inspired by the experience of the “Officine didattiche”, organized during the 59° Convegno Nazionale AIIG (held from September 29th to October 3rd, 2016 at the Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia – Università La Sapienza), the book has been set as an operative tool for teachers. The authors of the contributions integrated theoretical reflections with the didactic relevance emerged from their training experiences. The main aim of this volume is to provide methodological and practical supports and to act as an operative source in planning and conducting training courses for teachers. The contributions are organized in three parts: "Corpi", "Strumenti" and "Narrazioni", re-proposing the guiding themes of the “Officine” set in Rome.
