    Abstract: Bei Sonnenaufgang bringt eine Gruppe Diviner den Ahnengeistern ein Opfer in Gestalt einer symbolischen Mahlzeit am Fluß dar. Nach der Opferzeremonie berichten die Diviner einzeln dem Oberdiviner über den Verlauf der Handlung. Anschließend tanzen sie gemeinsam mit den anwesenden Zuschauern.
    Abstract: At sunrise a group of diviners sacrifices a symbolic meal for the ancestor's spirits at the river. After the sacrificial ceremony each diviner tells the superior diviner about the course of the action. Finally, they dance together with the spectators.

Sechs Tage später: Die Braut wird der Familie des Bräutigams vorgestellt. Am folgenden Tag: Die Braut bekundet rituell ihren Übertritt in die Familie des Bräutigams. Die Zeremonie endet überraschend mit einem Gottesdienst.
    Abstract: Friends and relatives gather in the bridegroom's kraal to await the arrival of the bride and her entourage. Six days later: the bride is presented to the family of the bridegroom. On the next day the bride ritually affirms her joining the bridegroom's family. Suprisingly, the ceremony ends with a divine service.

Zum Abschluß tanzen wieder die Frauen. Anschließend tritt der Diviner-Lehrer auf. Seine Beschwörungen begleitet er mit einem Musikbogen.

    Abstract: Auf dem Grundstück eines Wahrsagers in Dimbasa wird die Endphase der Initiation einer Divinerin festlich begangen: Nach dem Anrufen der Ahnen durch die Lehrerin wird eine Medizin schaumig geschlagen. Die Novizin nimmt etwas Schaum zu sich und wird mit den Insignien der Divinerin geschmückt. Während der Zeremonie werden wiederholt Tänze aufgeführt.
    Abstract: At Dimbasa, in the homestead of a diviner, the final stage of the initiation of a female diviner takes place: After the invocation of the ancestors by the woman teacher a medicinal substance is beaten into froth. The novice takes some froth and is invested with the diviner's insignia. In the course of the ceremony several dances are performed.

    Abstract: Ein Diviner-Ehepaar nimmt die Initiation einer jungen Frau zur Herbalistin vor: Lobgesang der Anwesenden für die Ahnengeister; Anrufen der Ahnengeister durch den Diviner; Schlagen von Schaum, mit dem die Initiandin bestrichen wird; rituelle Tötung einer Ziege; Divinationstanz. Anschließend bringt die initiierte Frau die Medizin zum Schäumen als Zeichen für ihre neuen Fähigkeiten. Die Zeremonie wurde für die Filmaufnahmen wiederholt.
    Abstract: A couple of diviners perform the ceremony of initiation of a young femal herbalist: songs of the participants in praise of the ancestral spirits; invocation of the ancestral spirits by the diviner; producing froth and smearing the initiate; ritual killing of a goat; divination dance. Finally the initiated woman beats the medicine into froth as a sign of her new abilities.

    Abstract: Auf das kurz gehaltene Haar einer jungen verheirateten Frau setzt eine ältere eine kleine, baskenmützenähnliche rote Kopfbedeckung und heftet sie mit einfachen Nähstichen am Kopfhaar fest. Anschließend wird ein schmales Perlenband am Haaransatz, etwa 3-4 cm vom Hutrand entfernt, festgemacht. Zur Überbrückung des Zwischenstreifens benutzt man ein achtreihiges Perlenband, das bis zum Lederrock der Frau herabreicht.
    Abstract: An aged woman puts upon the very short hair of a young married woman a rather small beret-like cap and fastens it with several stitches. A narrow band of beads is attached 2-3 cm from the cap to the head-line, and the space between is covered by a band of eight rows of beads, which runs down to the woman's leather skirt.

    Abstract: Ein Mädchen, schon in Tanzkleidung, legt seiner kleinen Schwester den Perlenschmuck an (Schnur, Kette, Kragen, Latz, Hüfttücher, Gürtel usw.). Danach tanzen die beiden Mädchen mit einem Mann vor der Kamera in einer Linie einen typischen Stampftanz. Die Zuschauer klatschen und singen dazu. Der mit Ton versehene Abschnitt des Films beginnt nach etwa 3 min Vorführdauer.
    Abstract: A girl, already in dance attire, puts on to her smaller sister the ornament of beads: a string of beads, collar-shaped necklace, pelerine-like collar, bib, waist-bands, etc. The two girls then perform with a man, arranged in a line, a typical stamping dance, accompanied by handclapping and singing of the audience.
