Abstract:
Ein 67-jähriger Handwerker drechselt aus Palisander eine 99teilige Gebetsschnur: Zerkleinerung des Holzes, grobe Formgebung, Durchbohrung der Rohlinge, Zuschleifen der Dreheisen, Drechseln der Perlen (ovale, runde, walzen- und eiförmige), Zubereitung der Politur, Polieren, Auffädeln.
Abstract:
In Turkey there are only a few skilled craftsmen who are able to procedure hand-made rosaries from various materials. In Istanbul only one specialist could be found who was able to make rosaries of a high quality with the aid of a simply constructed lathe. The films shows the complete process of turning a rosary consisting of 99 beads. The material used was palisander.
