    Abstract: Am Pfingstmontag wird ein Bursche in einer Scheune in grünes Laub eingehüllt. Dieser Butz wird in einem Reiterumzug mitgeführt und in der Mitte des Dorfes symbolisch getötet. Der Umzug endet auf einer Wiese, wo als Abschluß ein Pferderennen stattfindet. Sieger ist der Reiter, der den geschmückten Maibaum am Ende der Rennbahn im Vorbeireiten an sich reißen kann. Brauchträger sind die 20-21jährigen Burschen.
    Abstract: In a barn, a young man is enveloped in green foliage. This veiled figure is then led round in a procession of riders, and killed symbolically in the middle of the village. The procession ends on a meadow, where a horse-race serves as finale. The winner is the horseman who, riding past, succeeds in seizing hold of a decorated maypole at the end of the track.

    Abstract: Weg der Herden: Windbachtal, Krimmler Tauern (2634 m), Ahrntal. Übernachtung in Prettau. Beim Klammwirt (St. Peter) werden den Kühen Glocken umgehängt, und der Leitkuh wird ein Kranz auf den Kopf gebunden. Am Nachmittag des zweiten Tages treffen die Herden auf den heimatlichen Höfen ein. Abends laden dann die Hofleute Freunde und Nachbarn zum "Kühkemma" ein.
    Abstract: Route of the herds: Windbachtal, Krimmler Tauern (2634 m), Ahrntal. Overnight stay at Prettau. Cowbells are put on and the leading cow is decorated with a crown. In the afternoon of the second day the herds arrive at the farms. In the evening the farmers invite their friends and neighbours.

    Abstract: Zehn Paare des Iglauer Singkreises singen und tanzen im Studio des IWF. Während abwechselnd ein Bursche und der Mädchenchor einen Vierzeiler singt, tanzt der enge Kreis der Tänzerinnen vor dem Halbkreis der Tänzer mit wiegenden Schritten am Ort. Beim Nachspiel der Musikanten, die auf Iglauer Bauernfiedeln spielen, tanzen Burschen und Mädchen gegengleich im Kreis herum.
    Abstract: Ten dance couples of the Iglau folk group sing and dance in the studio of the IWF. While a boy and a girls' choir alternately sing a four lined stanza, the inner circle of the female dancers dances in front of the semicircle of the male dancers. During the interlude of the musicians playing on Iglau vielles the male and female dancers dance in circles.

    Abstract: Zehn Paare des Iglauer Singkreises tanzen im Studio des IWF einen Paartanz, dessen ländlerartige Figuren vom ersten Paar eingeleitet und von den übrigen Tänzern übernommen werden. Der Tanz beginnt sehr langsam im 3/4-Takt, geht dann in Polka-Rhythmus über und endet mit einem Galopp. Es spielen Mitglieder des Singkreises auf Iglauer Bauernfiedeln.
    Abstract: Ten dance couples of the Iglau folk club dancing a partner dance in the IWF studio whose ländler like figures are introduced by the first couple and adopted by the other couples. The dance begins very slowly in three-four time, shifts into polka rhythm and ends in a gallop. Members of the Iglau folk club play on Iglau vielles.

    Abstract: In St. Magdalena (Gsiestal) ist der Roggendrusch mit dem Flegel eine Gemeinschaftsarbeit, bei der Verwandte und Nachbarn mithelfen. Die Garben werden auf dem Boden des Stadels ausgebreitet und mit dem Flegel so lange geschlagen, bis die Körner herausgefallen sind. Anschließend wird das Korn mit Hilfe eines Reinigungsgerätes, der sog. Windmühle, von Staub und Spreu gereinigt.
    Abstract: At St. Magdalena (Gsiestal) the rye is threshed with the help of relatives and neighbours. The crop is spread out on the barn-floor and the grains are beaten out with flails. Finally the grain is separated from chaff and dust by meanss of the so-called windmill.

    Abstract: Im Futterhaus werden die Stengel von den Samenkapseln durch Riffeln befreit und in dünnen Lagen auf einem Wiesenstück ausgebreitet, wo sie einen Fäulnisprozeß durchmachen. Anschließend werden die Stengel in einer abseits vom Gehöft liegenden Dörrgrube gedörrt, dann gebrochen und auf dem Hofplatz gehechelt.
    Abstract: The gradual transformation of flax-stalks into spinning fibres is shown at different working places on the domain of a farm in St. Magdalena in the Gsieser valley of South Tyrol. First of all, the seminal capsules are removed from the stalks. This work is carried out in the feeding house. After this the stalks - now without capsules - are spread out over grass in thin layers where they go through the decaying process under the influence of the weather - this process is not shown in the film. In a drying pit, which lies apart from the farm, the stalks are then dried and broken and are, finally, combed on the courtyard.

    Abstract: Hay-harvesting on a high alpine pasture in the Gsies valley with all operations belonging to it: mowing the grass, sharpening and whetting the scythe, tedding and raking the hay, and carrying the hay into the log-cabin. Beside harvesting we also see the behaviour of the workers at meal, preparing the food and saying grace. The film points out the coordination of the works of the different members of the group. Some operations can hardly be carried out without assistance (e. g. the lifting of the hay charge to be carried in).
