    Abstract: Die Jünglinge werden vor der Initiandenhütte beschnitten und verbringen dort anschließend drei Monate in Seklusion. Während dieser Zeit erhalten sie Unterricht über ihre zukünftigen Pflichten und Rechte. Die Initiationsperiode wird mit gemeinsamer Waschung am Fluß, Überreichen neuer Decken und Stücke sowie Tanz abgeschlossen. Die Rückkehr der Jungmänner in die Familie wird festlich begangen (Tieropfer).
    Abstract: The youth are circumcised in front of the initiation hut, in which they are then secluded for three months. During this time they receive instruction in their duties and rights. At the end of the period of seclusion the initiates wash themselves collectively in the river, they are given new blankets and sticks and a dance is held. The return home of the young men is celebrated by feasting (animal sacrifices).

    Abstract: Eine alte Divinerin kocht aus Knollen eine Medizin für Schwangere und verrichtet anschließend einen Divinationstanz. Mit der Medizin wird der Leib einer in kniender Haltung Gebärenden benetzt (Spontangeburt). Dann wird die Nabelschnur mit einem Grashalm durchtrennt, Mutter und Kind werden versorgt, und die Nachgeburt wird vergraben.
    Abstract: An elderly woman witch doctor prepares from different tubers and roots the medicine imbhelethisane for pregnant women. When the mixture is boiling, the doctor performs with her female assistant a short song and dance. The way of application of the medicine is then demonstrated on a little girl. The central part of the film shows the spontaneous birth of a Zulu child with the mother in a kneeling position, and the measures taken by the midwife immediately after parturition. The film concluds with the traditional burying of the placenta.
