    Kurzfassung: Die 15. Shell Jugendstudie basiert auf den Ergebnissen einer repräsentativen Befragung Jugendlicher in Deutschland. Sie widmet sich in ihrem Schwerpunkt dem mit dem demografischen Wandel der Gesellschaft in Zusammenhang stehenden Thema "Alt und Jung", und zwar aus der Sicht der jungen Generation: Wie sieht sich die junge Generation mit all ihren Erwartungen an die eigene Zukunft in einer zunehmend älter werdenden Gesellschaft? Zudem greift sie als neues Thema die religiöse Orientierung auf und erfragt die Einstellung der Jugend zu Religiosität und Glauben sowie zur Rolle der Kirchen und Religionsgemeinschaften. Die 15. Shell Jugendstudie setzt die Langzeit-Berichterstattung über die junge Generation in Deutschland seit dreiundfünfzig Jahren fort, indem jugendliche Lebenswelten, Rollenverständnis sowie Einstellungen zur Politik erfragt werden.
