    Abstract: L'objectif essentiel des politiques énergétiques des pays de l'OCDE est d'assurer la sécurité d'approvisionnement au meilleur coût tout en respectant l'environnement. Les moyens mis en œuvre pour atteindre sécurité d'approvisionnement et compétitivité dans le secteur électrique diffèrent d'un pays à l'autre. Certains gouvernements s'en remettent aux forces du marché alors que d'autres gardent la propriété de certains équipements et ont recours à des réglementations économiques strictes. Les objectifs environnementaux sont généralement poursuivis grâce à la réglementation et parfois, par exemple dans le cas des émissions de dioxyde de carbone des centrales électriques, en utilisant les mécanismes du marché. Cette publication examine les rôles et les responsabilités des gouvernements en matière d'énergie nucléaire dans le cadre des objectifs globaux des politiques énergétiques nationales et étudie les instruments disponibles pour atteindre ces objectifs. Elle devrait intéresser, outre les décideurs du secteur public, les responsables industriels à haut niveau, les analystes de politiques énergétiques et les journalistes.
