Welche Rolle spielen Bilder für das Verhältnis von Gesellschaft und Raum?Der Band stellt Theorien und Praktiken Visueller Geographien systematisch vor: Neben einer analytischen Diskussion visuell vermittelter Raumkonzepte erkundet er die Erzeugung und Aneignung von RaumBildern in so verschiedenen Feldern wie der Wirtschafts- und Bevölkerungsgeographie, der Stadtplanung, der Kunst im öffentlichen Raum sowie in Sozialisation, Medien und Bildung. Not the image, but its use stands at the center of this volume, which systematically discusses the conceptual and analytic exploration of the relationship between image and space, opening up a critical, reflexive perspective of visually mediated spatial concepts and allocations.
