Abstract:
Frauen raffen mit der linken Hand ein kleines Büschel Dinkel (Milchreife) zusammen und schneiden es mit der Sichel kurz über dem Boden ab. Die Büschel werden gekreuzt auf die Stoppeln gelegt. Dann erfolgt durch Männer das Reffen und das Dörren in dem mit Holz geheizten Darrhaus.
Abstract:
The film shows how spelt (Triticum spelta; In German-Speaking areas also called Spelz, Dinkelweizen), and old grain type which was ealier wide-spread, is harvested half-ripe with a sickle. With the use of a Reff (a comb-like iron device with the teeth pointing upwards) the ears are seperated from the stem. The ears are then eured in a kiln.
