Antike Objekte aus den reichen Beständen der Staatlichen Antikensammlungen und Glyptothek München wie Statuen, Gefäße und Reliefs zeigen Menschen und Gottheiten in den ihrer Kleidung entsprechenden Lebenssituationen. Die antiken Bilder gehen Hand in Hand mit historischen Texten und veranschaulichen zum einen die Herstellung, Farben und Formen griechischer Gewänder. Zum anderen geht der Katalog über das bloße Materielle der damaligen Kleidung hinaus und präsentiert den gesellschaftlichen Stellenwert sowie die Relevanz von Bekleidung im antiken Griechenland. Durch zeitgenössische Entwürfe von Studierenden der AMD Akademie Mode & Design werden darüber hinaus aktuelle Zugänge zu den Antiken erschlossen.
