Abstract:
Zwei Frauen weben gemeinsam an einem horizontalen Webstuhl mit zwei Litzenstäben im Sommerweidegebiet am Siwa-See einen gemusterten Wollteppich: Aufbau des Webstuhls, Aufspannen der Kette, Einschlingen der Litzenstäbe, Weben, Abschneiden des Teppichs mit Fransenbildung.
Abstract:
Setting up a horizontal llom with two heddles. Stretching a double warp by winding figures of eight. Attaching the warp threads to the heddles and fixing the heddles by means of drawcords to both arms of a lever-like longitudinal rod. By alternate raising and lowering the shed is formed. Light-coloured, red and black woollen threads are inserted. The result is a weft-faced rib weave with horizontal stripes. The finished carpet is cut from the loom and the loom is removed.
