Abstract: Rock features are important traces of the formation and development of karst surface. On various karren their record is especially rich, revealing to us the many factors that in diverse conditions formed the karst surface on various carbonate and other rock.We have tried to present the most characteristic rock features and through them the most important factors and processes in the formation of the karst surface, the methods of studying them, and the most outstanding examples.Forty-nine contributing authors offer a wide spectrum of content and examples of rock forms from many karst regions around the world. The first part of the book offers an orderly-organized survey and description of the most characteristic rock forms and presents the physical and chemical corrosion of rock, biocorrosion, the modeling of rock forms, their detailed morphometrics, and numerous descriptions of individual rock forms. The second part is devoted to various examples of rock forms found around the world from Slovenia through North and South America to Australia and Asia
Abstract: Skalne oblike so pomembna sled oblikovanja in razvoja površinskih kraških pojavov. Skušali smo zajeti najbolj značilne skalne oblike in skozi njih najbolj pomembne dejavnike in procese oblikovanja kraškega površja ter načine njihovega raziskovanja in najbolj izrazite primere. Širok spekter vsebine razkriva tudi nabor 49 avtorjev in primeri skalnih oblik s številnih kraških področji sveta. Prvi del knjige smiselno podaja pregled najbolj značilnih skalnih oblik in njihov opis, predstavlja fizikalno-kemično raztapljanje kamnine, biokorozijo, modeliranje skalnih oblik, njihovo podrobno morfometrijo ter številne opise posameznih skalnih oblik. Drugi del knjige je posvečen različnim primerom skalnih oblik širom sveta od Slovenije, prek severne in južne Amerike do Avstralije in Azije

Abstract: The book deals with erosion processes in the Slovenian part of Istrian peninsula. In the introductory chapters the fluvial-denudation relief in Slovenia, erosion processes, and their influential factors, as well as the extent of erosion processes in Slovenia and Slovene Istria are presented. The largest section of the book is devoted to the presentation of measurements of erosion processes in the Dragonja river basin. Measurements included soil erosion measurements (interrill erosion on three different land uses, rill erosion and wind erosion), measurements of rockwall retreat and movements of debris through an erosion gully, as well as chemical denudation in the river basin
V uvodnih poglavjih so predstavljeni rečno-denudacijski relief v Sloveniji, erozijsko-denudacijski procesi in njihovi vplivni dejavniki ter obseg erozijskih procesov v Sloveniji, Sredozemlju in Sivi Istri.

Abstract: Agricultural terraces are the predominant landscape element in the Goriška brda region. These were once made by hand, but started being built mechanically after the Second World War. Reshaping slopes into terraces increases the amount of arable farmland. Farming, especially cultivation of vineyards and orchards, is still the most important industry in this region. The development of winegrowing has indelibly marked the image of the cultural landscape here.Terraces are mostly being abandoned in regions with market-oriented mechanized farming. Much of the formerly terraced land in upper Goriška brda is now completely overgrown or deteriorated. The former extent of these agricultural terraces cannot even be precisely determined using the land cadastre carried out under Emperor Franz I. In contrast, the agricultural terraces in lower Goriška brda are being constantly renovated.Maintenance of terraces prevents water loss and reduces soil erosion. When the shape of hillsides is changed, large quantities of soil are moved, and steep slopes are altered, this can cause land slippage and large areas can become unstable. Detailed study indicates that Goriška brda is exposed to a high risk of landslides. This study was carried out as part of Interreg project IIIB Alpine Space, titled "The Terraced Landscapes of the Alpine Arc" (ALPTER)
Abstract: Monografija na primeru Goriških brd predstavlja slovenske izsledke v okviru mednarodnega raziskovalnega projekta, katerega glavni namen je preprečevanje propadanja terasiranih kmetijskih zemljišč v širšem območju Alp.

Abstract: The book brings a thorough review of slope processes, their causes and consequences. Both, prehistoric and recent slope processes in Slovenia are described into deatil. Authors investigated the main characteristics of slope processes according to the type of movement (flow, slide, fall), their extent and effects. As geographers, they are interested mainly in the links between natural processes and man. More than sixty different slope processes in Slovenia are described into detail, based upon field work and examination of numerous sources. In this way all types of slope processes are included and described.Review of circumstances if followed by a discussion about the importance of slope processes for spatial planning as well as methodological and practical instructions for hazarad maps elaboration with different methods. Two deterministic methods and a one probabilistic are presented. The documentary value of the book is also increased by the fact that it brings a chapter about a memory of inhabitants on slope processes, as it has been preserved in sacred literature and aitiological narratives. The book can be used for thorough studies of physical geography and related sciences. Plentiful documentary material makes it useful for everyone who would like to explore nature in Slovenia
Predstavljeni sta izdelava zemljevidov z deterministično in probabilistično metodo.

Abstract: Since 1994, karstologists have participated uninterruptedly in the planning and construction of expressways on Slovenia's karst. The choice of expressway and railway routes must above all respect the integrity of the karst landscape and follow recommendations on avoiding major karst surface features and already known caves. Special attention is devoted to the impact of the construction and use of expressways on karst waters. The results of constant research of karst features discovered in the course of the construction of expressways have enriched our knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage and deepened our karstological knowledge. They also represent starting points for planning life on karst surfaces and the protection of karst. The book is intended for karstologists, experts from the field of earth sciences, engineering geologists, planners of traffic routes, students, nature protectionists, planners in administrative units, managers of karst water resources, waterworks, tourist caves, etc
Pri izbiri trase avtocest in železniških prog so v ospredju upoštevanje celovitosti kraške pokrajine, priporočila o izogibanju pomembnejšim površinskim kraškim pojavom in že znanim jamam.

Abstract: This book draws together the major recent advances in the modeling of karst systems. Based on the dissolution kinetics of limestone, and flow and transport processes in its fractures, it presents a hierarchy of cave genetic situations that range from the enlargement of a single fracture to the evolution of cavernous drainage patterns in confined and unconfined karst aquifers. These results are also applied to the evolution of leakage below dam sites in karst. The book offers a wealth of informations that help to understand the development of cave systems. It addresses geologists, hydrologists, geomorphologists, and geographers. It is also of interest to all scientists and engineers who have responsibilities for groundwater exploration and management in karst terrains. A CD including all figures figures from the nook and numerous animations presenting the results is enclosed
Abstract: Knjiga Processes of speleogenessis: a modeling approach (Procesi speleogeneze: modelski pristop) ponuja izčrpen vpogled v procese in dinamiko razvoja kraškega razpoklinskega sistema.

Abstract: The book represents a detailed study of the fauna of drips and drip pools in six caves in Slovenia. Drips and drip pools are important because they are just about the only way of assessing the epikarst community. Using a special sampling device, it was possible to sample individual drips for extended periods of time. A total of 37 species of copepods were found in drips and drip pools. Significant differences in the fauna between drips and pools, presumably because of differential survival and reproduction in pools were found. Somewhat surprisingly it was found that the kind of pool, e.g., mud-bottomed compared to calcite bottomed, made little difference
