Abstract:
Barbara Włodarczyk, doświadczona reporterka, wieloletnia korespondentka polskiej telewizji w Moskwie, nie boi się wyruszyć ani na daleką syberyjską prowincję, ani na salony oligarchów. Wie, z kim rozmawiać, kogo słuchać i jak zajrzeć za kulisy wydarzeń, aby oddać to, co myślą, czują i jak żyją Rosjanie oraz ich niepodzielny władca Władimir Putin. Na swoich rozmówców i przewodników po dzisiejszej Rosji autorka wybiera zwykłych ludzi. Jest wśród nich sprzedawca figurek, kołchozowy kierowca czy szefowa fundacji. Pod pewnymi względami są przeciętni, a równocześnie charakterystyczni – reprezentują postawy i cechy mocno obecne w rosyjskim społeczeństwie. Barbara Włodarczyk dzieli się też osobistymi doświadczeniami, w tym relacją z bezpośredniego spotkania z Putinem.
Abstract:
Barbara Włodarczyk, an experienced reporter, a long-time correspondent of Polish television in Moscow, is not afraid to go to a distant Siberian province, or to the parlors of oligarchs. She knows who to talk to, who to listen to and how to look behind the scenes to reflect on how the Russians and their ruler, Vladimir Putin, think, feel and live. The author chooses ordinary people as her interlocutors and guides in today's Russia. They include a figurine seller, a collective farm driver and the head of the foundation. In some ways they are average and at the same time distinctive - they represent attitudes and traits that are strongly present in Russian society. Barbara Włodarczyk also shares her personal experiences, including an account of a direct meeting with Putin.
