Kurzfassung:
Ce travail constitue une invitation à réfléchir sur le destin du jazz en Italie et sur l'évolution de la société italienne durant ce dernier demi-siècle, envisageant ses surprenantes changements dans le cadre d'une problématique générale des réinterprétations culturelles. Suivant une répartition historique (fascisme-après-guerre-années 70) l'on arrive à l'actualité en y observant l'ubiquité d'une formule promotionnelle du jazz à côté de la cuisine italienne et du 'made in Italy' qui envisage la volonté de d'épurer le jazz de toute firme d'intellectualisme et de le voire comme un autre produit de la créativité italienne. Ce parcours touche des arguments généraux comme les contributions à une sociologie de 'champ' du jazz, les rapports entre jazz et anthropologie, des portraits 'de vie' des musiciens (l'écrivain est musicien aussi) dans un effort envisagé à contextualiser dans le temps et l'espace les idées et les pratiques culturelles.
Kurzfassung:
This work aims to a reflection on the 'destiny' of jazz in Italy as a way to reflect about the whole society, and especially about the dramatic changes experimented in XX century. In this perspective it gives a particular attention to the problems of cultural re-interpretation. Following an historical subdivision of its chapters (fascism-after war-the seventies)it ends facing a contemporary approach in which jazz is promoted 'as a product' aside the taste of Italian kitchen and the genius of Italian style and creativity. The critical part and the following argumentation discusses the contributions to a 'field' sociology of jazz, the interactions between jazz and anthropology, sketches some portrait of Italian and American musicians (the author is musician too) with a continuous attention to contextualize in time and space the ideas and cultural practices shaping the jazz field.
