    Abstract: Der Film dokumentiert die erfolgreiche Emigrationsgeschichte der Nordfriesen nach Amerika am Beispiel einer kleinen Gruppe von Immigranten von den Inseln Föhr und Amrum, die sich auf Long Island bzw. Yonkers niedergelassen haben. Die Prozesse und Mechanismen der Akkulturation und Assimilation, die ihr Leben in Amerika in ökonomischer, sozialer und sprachlicher Hinsicht bestimmt haben, werden deutlich in Interviews und Statements der Protagonisten und unterstützt durch einen über die friesische Perspektive hinausweisenden Kommentar.
    Abstract: The successful story of emigration to the USA of north Fresians, concentrating on a small group from the islands of Föhr and Amrum who settled on Long Island and Yonkers. The processes and mechanism of acculturation and assimilation which rule their economic, social and linguistic life. Commentary, interviews and statements.

November) in Familie, Nachbarschaft, Schule und auf Stadtebene: Kürbisse werden ausgehöhlt und als Laterne abends vor das Haus gestellt. Maskenumzüge (als Teufel, Tier, Tod, Soldat usw.) mit Gabenheischen und Bestrafung (z. B. Beschmieren der Häuser mit Seife) bei Verweigerung der Gabe, Masken-Musikparaden.
    Abstract: This film documents the celebration of Halloween in the town of State College, Central Pennsylvania, on Monday, October 31, 1966. The film depicts typical Halloween activities in several families, in an elementary school and in the community, including an early-evening parade on the main street of the town. The film was especially produced as a contribution to the international project of the Encyclopaedia Cinematographica on children's customs and games in various countries.

    Abstract: A Pennsylvania German woman is baking bread. Dissolving of the yeast cakes in warm water, the mixing of the dough which includes Spring wheat bread-flour, sugar, salt, and melted lard, the raising of the dough, its kneading and raising again, the shaping of the loaves, which are then raised in the wooden dough tray, and, finally, the baking of the bread in a wood-fired oven.
