    Abstract: The volume presents research that emerges from the 9th International Adult Education Academy (2022), which brings together researchers, students and practitioners from around the world to share perspectives comparatively. More than 80 participants from almost 20 different countries have exchanged, compared and expanded their individual knowledge and experience on adult learning and education. This book will make a significant contribution to the theory and methodology of research on historical exile, cities and modernities, as well as present multidisciplinary exile research from an urban perspective.With a blend of case studies, and theoretical approaches, it interweaves histories of modernism and exile in different urban environments and focuses on historical dislocations in the first half of the twentieth century, when artistic and urban movements constituted themselves in global exchange. Het uitgangspunt was om daarbij aan te sluiten bij de identiteitsontwikkeling in de adolescentie en het ontwikkelen van sociale competenties binnen het onderwijs. Door beter aan te sluiten bij de identiteitsbehoeften van jongeren kunnen eventuele radicale gedachten worden bijgestuurd naar positieve politieke of maatschappelijke betrokkenheid.     Abstract: The Watlington Hoard was discovered in southern Oxfordshire in 2015 by a metal-detectorist, and acquired by the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford in 2017. A nationally-important find of coinage and metalwork, and the first major Viking-Age hoard from the county, it dates from the late 870s, a fundamental and tumultuous period in Britain's history. The contents of the hoard include a highly significant collection of over 200 silver pennies, mostly of Alfred the Great, king of Wessex, and Ceolwulf II, king of Mercia, transforming our understanding of the coinage in this period, and 23 silver and gold pieces of contemporary metalwork much of which was derived from Scandinavia. Presenting the complete publication of the objects and coins in the Watlington Hoard - including an important re-assessment of the coinage of the late 870s - the authors discuss its wider implications for our understanding of hoarding in late 9th-century southern Britain, interactions between the kingdoms of Wessex and Mercia, and the movements of the Viking Great Army after the Battle of Edington in 878. The book also relates another side to the hoard's story, beginning with its discovery and excavation, charting its path through the conservation work and acquisition by the Ashmolean Museum to the public outreach projects which ran alongside the scholarly research into the hoard

    Abstract: The research reported in this publication concerns the second sub-study of the project Administrative Power and the Effect of Professionalisation Incentives in Secondary Education. This sub-study focuses on the various incentives that the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and organisations affiliated with OCW (for instance NRO, the Inspectorate and DUO, VO-raad, the Education Council and collective agreements) give to various actor groups in education. The aim is to maintain and improve the professional competencies of those actor groups. Incentives' is another word for professionalisation policy instruments (PBIs) and these can be categorised as PBIs arising from legislation or regulations, PBIs of a financial nature and PBIs intended to entice professionalisation activities through communication. For each PBI aimed at secondary education, the actor(s) targeted and the nature of the incentive were identified. For comparison with secondary education, this has also been done for PBIs in PO and MBO. To gain more insight into the familiarity, use, effectiveness and possible side effects, experts were interviewed and asked to fill in a digital questionnaire. Finally, a focus group meeting was held to discuss our findings in more detail on the basis of various propositions
    Abstract: Het onderzoek brengt de stand van zaken met betrekking tot bestuurlijk vermogen en professionalisering in het voortgezet onderwijs in kaart. We doen dat door verschillende opeenvolgende deelstudies. We gaan door secundaire analyses na in hoeverre besturen voor voortgezet onderwijs van elkaar verschillen in gerealiseerde onderwijskwaliteit. Door literatuurstudie en interviews met deskundigen schetsen we vervolgens welke professionaliseringprikkels in het voortgezet onderwijs voorkomen en waar ze toe leiden. De kern van ons onderzoek bestaat uit een combinatie van een surveyonderzoek met (verkennende en verdiepende) casestudies. We onderzoeken in hoeverre besturen beschikken over bestuurlijk vermogen, hoe ze reageren op externe professionaliseringsprikkels en hoe ze interne professionalisering vormgeven. We analyseren de relaties tussen bestuurlijk vermogen, professionalisering en onderwijskwaliteit en gaan de invloed na van bestuurlijke kenmerken. Door expertmeetings met vertegenwoordigers van beleid, praktijk en wetenschap komen we uiteindelijk tot breed gedragen aanbevelingen voor het verbeteren van het voortgezet onderwijs

    Abstract: Based on the roots and convictions of the researchers - the rhizomatic study ventured into the identification and recovery of Afro-Colombian ancestral values in the Pacific Region (Colombia), generating two sequential and complementary stages for this purpose: language contact with elders and older adults from two Ancestral Black Communities Councils in Buenaventura and in La Playa respectively (Valle-Colombia), and the subsequent pedagogical mediation with young people from the Ancestral Black Communities Council of La Bocana (Valle-Colombia). From a rhizomatic methodological structure based on the positions of Deleuze andGuattari (2005), the respective interactions were conducted in a holistically way, under the recovery of human networks and language, in addition to dynamics such as the cane handover, all of the former with strong roots in the praxis of Afro-Colombian communities in general. The obtained results led to significant findings both at the axiological level, and in the terms of emerging cultural elements, in its final phase the research allowed to assertively show the realization of padagogical mediations achieving to reaffirm and recover the Afro-Colombian ancestral values in the context of their new generations
    Abstract: Dadas las raíces y convicciones de los investigadores, el estudio rizomático incursionó en la identificación y recuperación de los valores ancestrales afrocolombianos en la Región Pacifico (Colombia), generándose para el efecto dos etapas secuenciales y complementarias: el contacto de lenguajeo con ancianos y adul-tos mayores de dos Consejos Comunitarios Ancestrales de Comunidades Negras, respectivamente de Buenaventura y de La Playa (Valle-Colombia), y la posterior mediación pedagógica con jóvenes del Consejo Comunitario Ancestral de Comunidades Negras de La Bocana (Valle-Colombia). Desde una estructura metodológica rizomática asentada en las posturas de Deleuze y Guattari (2005), las respectivas interactuaciones de adelantaron de manera holística, bajo la recuperación de tejidos humanos y lenguajeos, además de dinámicas como el paso del bastón, todas con fuerte arraigo en las praxis de las comunidades afrocolombianas en general. Los resultados obtenidos conllevaron a significativos hallazgos tanto a nivel axiológico, como en cuanto a elementos culturales emergentes, y siendo que en su fase final la investigación permitió mostrar de manera asertiva la realización de mediaciones pedagógicas que logran reafirmar y recuperar los valores ancestrales afrocolombianos en el contexto de sus nuevas generaciones

Sustanaible love ́s energy resides in the Akas-hic field, it permeates everythings that exists, in this sense it can gain certain spaces for learning to germinate, and the emergence of subtle acts that are woven synchronously with sustainable love for collective learning. Through the reflection that sprouted in recognition of magical moments, we identify minimum condi-tions, where the community of learning gestated, like: conversa-tional networks, individual and collective interactive relationships learning, identity and self-organization processes, accompanied by some basic principles that we call spores of respect, care, cooperation, sincerity, dialogue and listening, tickling for common learning, solidarity, trust, participation and joy, making the emergence of sustainable love visible for the transformation of educational communities into learning communities
    Abstract: Este articulo quiere hacer visible cómo en comunidades educativas autocráticas, como los son la escuela y la penitenciaría, emergen instantes mágicos donde los aprendientes se autoorganizan en una dinámica armoniosa de aceptación y de interaprendizaje. La investigación inmersa en el paradigma emergente permitió develar paisajes donde el amor sustentable se convierte en el mediador del aprendizaje a partir de procesos autoorganizativos, redes conversacionales, identidad colectiva, y el interés por aprender en común. La energía del amor sustentable que reside en el campo Akáshico, permea todo lo que existe, en este sentido puede ganar ciertos espacios para que el aprendizaje germine, y sea posible la emergencia de actos sutiles que se tejen sincrónicamente con amor sustentable para el aprendizaje colectivo.     Abstract: This article presents some results of the research Sowing in Diversity Contexts, carried out in the area of the community of Guachené, in the department of Cauca, in Colombia. These communities were Naza, Guachené afro descendants, and people from Universidad Francisco José de Caldas's campus community. This paper focuses on de measurements done in Guachené, Cauca, Colombia. In this research was studied the community ́s coexistence, the recognition of cultural traditions that are inherited from generation through generation, and multiple factors that give life to cultural identity. The framework included various pedagogical mediations raised from the art, such as: oral narration of stories, traditional songs, the recovery of memory through dialogue, and finally, the approximation to the methodology of talking maps. The result of this research shows how participatory learning is important for the processes of identity construction, replacement of dialogue in community, the need for cultural memory recovery, and the community ́s empowerment through participatory maps

Este articulo se centra en las mediaciones realizadas en la zona de Guachené en el departamento del Cauca en Colombia, en la que se observó la convivencia en comunidad, el reconocimiento del acervo cultural que se hereda de generación en generación y los múltiples factores que le dan vida a la identidad cultural, a través de diversas mediaciones pedagógicas planteadas desde el arte, como: la narración oral de historias, los cantos tradicionales, la recuperación de la memoria a través del diálogo y, finalmente, la aproximación a la metodología de mapas parlantes. El resultado de esta investigación evidencia cómo los aprendizajes participativos son importantes para los procesos de construcción de identidad, la relevación del diálogo en comunidad, la necesidad de la recuperación de la memoria cultural y el empoderamiento de la comunidad a través de mapas participativos

    Abstract: This book investigates the role native language plays in the process of acquiring a second language within a bilingual educational model. The research presented is based on a 2 year longitudinal study of students in a bilingual school. Particular attention is paid to the development of academic language proficiency. Performance in both languages was compared between two groups of peers learning in submersion classes in Germany and in Portugal. This comparison allows the assessment of effects of a given bilingual education programme. 〈br/〉〈br/〉There is a considerable advantage found for the students who learned in the bilingual environment, both in written and in oral samples. These students developed a more proficient bilingual academic discourse ability; socioeconomic status and cognitive abilities were controlled for. When comparing the results with an external measure for school achievement, the advantage was confirmed. The results also hint at didactic factors which seem to contribute to this performance
