    Abstract: Ein Kranker legt sich auf eine Matte vor seine Hütte. Der Zauberarzt kommt, fährt mit beiden Händen tastend und drückend an dem Körper entlang und entfernt den Krankheitsstoff, indem er seine Hände aneinander reibt. Dann streicht er den Krankheitsstoff an eine Stelle des Brustkorbs, saugt ihn mit dem Mund heraus und speit ihn aus.
    Abstract: The film shows the procedures used by a witch doctor in his attempt to cure a sick man: fumbling, pressing and rubbing his body with his hands, removing the disease by rubbing his hands together.

    Abstract: Am Flußufer des Dorfes Jatobá werden Männer und Frauen von dem Zauberarzt zur Ader gelassen. Er ritzt mit einem Wundkratzer (Kalebassenstück mit Hundsfischzähnen) die Haut am Unter- und Oberschenkel bzw. Oberarm auf. Das Blut wird abgestreift, und die Wunden im Fluß gewaschen.
