Stefanie Stricker ist Privatdozentin und Wissenschaftliche Assistentin am Lehrstuhl für Deutsche Sprachwissenschaft und Ältere Deutsche Literatur an der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg.
    Abstract: Main description: Glossen sind Wort- oder Sacherklärungen, die in derselben oder einer anderen Sprache (marginal) an den Rand oder (interlinear) zwischen die Zeilen eines Textes geschrieben sind. Der Katalog der althochdeutschen und altsächsischen Glossenhandschriften bietet zum ersten Mal in der Forschungsgeschichte eine Darstellung der gesamten bekannten Überlieferung althochdeutscher und altsächsischer Glossen. Die einzelnen Handschriften wurden in großem Umfang in den größeren und kleineren Bibliotheken Europas autopsiert und werden aufgrund der Autopsie und der umfassend recherchierten Literatur kodikologisch und inhaltlich exakt beschrieben. Die in ihnen enthaltenen Glossen werden nach Zahl und Art, Entstehungszeit und -ort sowie Mundart bestimmt. Ausführliche Bibliographien zu den Handschriften und ihrem Glosseninventar runden jeden Eintrag ab. Zahlreiche Register, u. a. zu Orten, Personen, Autoren und zur Glossenart, erschließen das Datenkorpus systematisch. Ein Tafelband mit ca. 300 Abbildungen bietet ergänzend in repräsentativer Auswahl Faksimiles von Handschriften mit allen wichtigen Glossentypen. Pluspunkte: Erster umfassender Katalog aller überlieferten alt-hochdeutschen Glossen. Umfassende kodikologische, paläographische und inhaltliche Beschreibung der Glossen. Mit einem 300-seitigen Tafelband (Handschriften-Faksimiles.) Ein Standardwerk der Mediävistik, Sprach- und Kulturgeschichte.
    Abstract: Main description: For the first time in the history of research, the catalogue of OHG and OS manuscript glosses provides an inventory of all known extant Old High German and Old Saxon glosses. In a wide-scale project, the individual manuscripts wereexamined in libraries large and small across Europe, and an exact description of the contents and the codices was drawn up on the basis of theexaminationand comprehensive research into the relevant literature. The glosses contained in the manuscripts are identified by number and type, time and place of origin and by dialect. Each entry is completed with detailed bibliographies on the manuscripts and their inventory of glosses. Systematic access to the corpus data is provided by numerous indexes, including places, persons, authors and types of gloss. A representative selection of manuscript facsimiles with all the important types of gloss is provided in a volume of plates with some 300 illustration.
