    Abstract: Warum radikalisieren sich politische Akteur*innen? Die Antworten darauf sind vielschichtig und werden nicht selten kontrovers diskutiert. Martin Wilk nutzt neuere Ansätze der Bewegungsforschung, um dieser Frage am Beispiel des US-amerikanischen »Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee« (SNCC) nachzugehen, das sich im Laufe der 1960er Jahre von einer gewaltfreien zu einer gewaltbereiten Organisation wandelte. Er zeigt auf, dass insbesondere Ansätze, die sich mit der Konstruktion kollektiver Identitäten in sozialen Bewegungen beschäftigt haben, eine wertvolle Erweiterung unseres Verständnisses von Radikalisierungsprozessen bieten.
