    Abstract: Biller leistete bereits Vorarbeiten mit "Die Adelsburg in Deutschland" (ID 27/93) und zeichnet hier auch für die Burgen-Kapitel verantwortlich; Großmann, Direktor des Germanistischen Nationalmuseums Nürnberg, behandelt das Schloss. Verbindend ist der Ansatz, Burg und Schloss als Architektur des Adels unter sich wandelnden historischen Bedingungen zu sehen und mit einer interdisziplinären Sichtweise die Forschung auf eine verlässliche Basis zu stellen. So leitet auch ein Überblick über die Forschungsgeschichte die chronologische Darstellung der Adelssitze im deutschsprachigen Raum in der Zeitspanne von etwa 1000 bis 1800 ein. Mit zahlreichen guten Abbildungen, mit eingeschobenen Themenblöcken, die verständlich Grundwissen vermitteln, mit Glossar, kommentiertem Literaturverzeichnis und Register wird eine Arbeit abgerundet, die in dieser gemeinsamen Darstellung von Burg und Schloss Kontinuität und Wandel der Bauaufgabe "Adelssitz" dokumentiert, in jedem nennenswerten Bestand zum Thema vorhanden sein sollte und dort auf das Interesse einer breiteren Leserschaft stoßen dürfte.     Abstract: This comprehensive volume examines the gradual reduction of mobility in the elderly. The authors first review the physiological and psychological changes that occur as we age, and go on to illustrate how this gradual decrease in adequate mobility can lead to an increase in automotive accidents.
