Abstract:
This book describes the customs and traditions of the peoples in Uganda which are classified as follows: the Pygmoids (Bambuti); the Bantu (Baganda, Banyoro, Batooro, Bakonjo and Bamba, Banyankore, Bakiga, Banyarwanda/Bafumbira, Basoga, Basamia-Bagwe, Banyole, Bagwere, Bagisu); the Nilotics (Luo: Acholi, Alur, Jopadhola; Sebei; Langi, Karimojong, Iteso, Kumam, Kakwa); and the Madi-Moru Group (Lugbara, Madi, Metu, Okebu). Three further articles deal with Ugandan musical instruments, traditional crafts, and education and cultural transformation. (DÜI-Hff)
