Deutschland, Frankreich, USA: Was haben diese Länder im Alltag gemeinsam, was ist anders? S. Stamer ("Mein Amerika - Dein Amerika", BA 11/06), D. Krämer-Anderson und B. de Cosnac (hier zuletzt: "Gisèle Freund", ID 4/09), alle berufstätig, publizistisch tätig, verheiratet, Mütter von Schulkindern, mit langjähriger Auslandserfahrung, gehen der Frage humorvoll-amüsant-unterhaltsam auf den Grund. Auf moderne Weise tauschen sie sich in wechselseitigen E-Mails aus über Schulsysteme und Pädagogik, Fitness und Sport, Kochen und Esskultur, Alkoholkonsum, Einkaufsgewohnheiten, Feste und Feiern, Datenschutz, Ökologie, Feminismus und Karriere, soziales Engagement, Mode, Deutsche im Ausland, Ein- und Auswanderung etc., wobei sich die meisten Unterschiede im Schulwesen zeigen. Modetrends sind überall gleich, manches ist bekannt, z.B. dass die französische Esskultur vorzüglich ist, Deutsche am besten ihren Müll trennen, Amerikaner sich sozial sehr engagieren. Vieles aber ist neu und nachdenkenswert. Nette, kurzweilige, informative Lektüre mit hübschem Cover, ideal auch für unterwegs. Schon für kleine Bibliotheken. (2) (Barbara Riedl)
