    Abstract: The history of Gdańsk carillons begins in 1561. It was that year that fourteen automatic bells were installed in the Main Town Hall. Later, a "striking mechanism" appeared in St Catherine’s Church. This magnificent instrument, consisting of thirty-five bells, has been in use since 1738. The third carillon was built in 1939 in the youth hostel at Biskupia Górka. The play of Gdańsk carillons was interrupted by the Second World War. Au travers de la récolte de plus de 1250 interviews, réalisées à Mumbai en 2012 et 2014 parmi des adultes âgés de 20 à 86 ans, habitant·e·s de bidonvilles et d’immeubles de classe moyenne inférieure, le contenu et la temporalité des événements vécus considérés comme importants par les répondant·e·s sont analysés. Outre le souci évident d’observer les trajectoires et les moments marquants de la vie, selon le point de vue des personnes elles-mêmes, cette thèse cherche à dépasser l’a priori selon lequel les habitant·e·s des slums seraient vulnérables par évidence, afin de révéler des vulnérabilités insoupçonnées, présentes sous des formes diverses

    Abstract: Since its emergence, big data has brought us new forms of energy, technology and means of organization which will generate greater values by crossover, integration, openness and sharing of data. Nevertheless, risks caused by open access and the flow of data also bring us enormous challenges to privacy, business secrets and social and national securities. This raises people’s awareness on data sharing, privacy protection and social justice, and becomes a significant governance problem in the world. In order to solve these problems, Data Rights Law 1.0 is innovative in that it proposes a new concept of the «data person». It defines «data rights» as the rights derived from the «data person» and «data rights system» as the order based on «data rights». «Data rights law» is the legal normative formed out of the «data rights system». In this way, the book constructs a legal framework of «data rights-data rights system-data rights law». If data is considered as basic rights, on which new order and laws are to be built, it will bring brand new and profound meaning to future human life

    Abstract: This book shows how vernacular communities commemorate their traumatic experiences of the Second World War. Despite having access to many diverse memory frameworks typical of late modernity, these communities primarily function within religious memory frameworks. The book also traces how they reacted when their local histories were incorporated into the remembrance practices of the state. The authors draw on case studies of four vernacular communities, notably Kałków-Godów, Michniów, Jedwabne and Markowa, to argue that it is still possible in the Polish countryside to discover milieux de mémoire.     Abstract: The book presents a theory of relationships between the forms of devotion and early drama genres. The historical background is the circumstances of the Church becoming independent of the Empire. A theological and philosophical aspect of the transformation of piety at the time was the specification of the ontological status of the sacred (spiritualization) and "shifting it to Heaven" (transcendentalization).     Abstract: The book deals with the synesthetic metaphors in Synamet – a semantically and grammatically annotated corpus. The texts included in the corpus are excerpted from blogs devoted to, among others, perfume, wine, beer, music, art, massage and wellness. The thesis presents a Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT) and frame-based analysis of synesthetic metaphors in Polish. Using data from the corpus, the book provides ample empirical support for embodiment in metaphor and internal logic of mappings between frames. The study proposes new models of verbal synesthesia in the corpus and calls into question a universality of hierarchy of senses. This book should be of interest to researchers working within cognitive linguistics, in particular metaphor theory, frame semantics, corpus linguistics, and sensory science

    Abstract: The book provides an empirically based analysis of changes on how various political and denominational actors seek to influence the Church and state relationship, as well as how we understand the idea of the secular state. A set of case studies shows how and why changes in the coverage of the secular state and Church-state relations have followed the dynamics of media logic. By establishing a grounded theory based on media content, legal regulations and political party programs in the years 1989–2015 as well as a current survey, the author throws new light on the theory of mediatization. The book demonstrates that the disseminated idea of the secular state is largely a result of the adaptation of both political and religious representatives to a dynamically changing media logic. Auf individueller Ebene wurden dabei Anreize für einen Lebensstilwandel geschaffen. Auf der Grundlage ökonomischer Modelle werden in dieser Arbeit die Wirkungen ökonomischer Anreize auf das individuelle Gesundheitsverhalten vor dem Hintergrund einer wirtschaftlichen Transformation untersucht. Anhand von Daten des Sozioökonomischen Panels (SOEP) wird analysiert, ob sich der Lebensstil ostdeutscher Bürger dem der Bevölkerung im Westen angenähert hat. Es läßt sich aufzeigen, daß auch mehr als zehn Jahre nach der «Wende» der ostdeutsche Transformationsprozeß als nicht abgeschlossen gelten kann

Methodisch setzt die Untersuchung auf einen sequentiellen «Mixed-Methods»-Ansatz. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass für KonsumentInnen 60+ vor allem das Sortiment und die Orientierung im Lebensmittelgeschäft einen positiven Einfluss auf die (Wieder-)Besuchwahrscheinlichkeit haben

Gestützt auf die Theorie der sozialen Repräsentationen und eingebettet in eine diskursanalytische Forschungsstrategie zielt diese Analyse von 84 Leitbildtexten des deutschen Sprachraumes auf die (Re-)Konstruktion der sozial geteilten Wissensbasis.
