Abstract:
On the 100th anniversary of women's voting rights in Czechoslovakia. In Her Own Voice seeks to commemorate more than a hundred and fifty years of the struggle for women's emancipation in the Czech lands. The exhibition demonstrates the historical meanings and limits of women's emancipation in the particular stories of well-konwn, and also less well-known women of different nationalities, from different social backgrounds and living at different times. Together these women "narrate" the story of women's emancipation as one of overcoming the barriers that limit the human potential of women. (Klappentext)
