Abstract: Become a complete JavaScript developer with hands-on practice sessions including five JavaScript projects About This Video Follow this step-by-step guide and become a complete JavaScript developer from scratch Practice and improve your skills by working on five different JavaScript projects Learn how to work with all versions of JavaScript from ES5, ES6, ES7, ES8, and the latest ES9 version In Detail JavaScript is a programming language used for building websites and applications to be browsed by users. It has become one of the most popular languages for software development. In this course, our goal is to make the most comprehensive JavaScript course out there. You will start by creating your very first webpage, and then move on to a fancy IDE and deal with Visual Studio code. You will then learn JavaScript basics to get started and write your very first JavaScript app. This includes adding comments, string and number data type, variables in JavaScript, variable naming conventions, JavaScript Boolean, undefined data type, and much more. Once you understand intermediate JavaScript such as multiple arrays, array inside an object, playing with inner HTML, and more, then you will learn about JavaScript ES6, ES7, ES8, and the latest ES9 version. You will also learn object-oriented programming in JavaScript. By the end of this course, you will gain a strong understanding of programming in JavaScript and be able to work and build your own creative JavaScript projects. Audience This course is designed for beginner-level programmers who want to learn JavaScript and for advanced JavaScript students as we will focus on the basics and start from scratch; hence, no experience is required. One just needs a computer with internet access and an open mind to learn JavaScript.

Abstract: In cybersecurity, the "fortress and moat" analogy served well only when users worked within office walls on office machines and had to go through physical access controls and a firewall perimeter to access the network. Today's organizations want to enable their workforce to work from anywhere, on any device, and at any time. That means the IT network perimeter is no longer a position of advantage. The adoption of cloud, the increasingly complex and varied threat landscape, remote workers, third-party vendors, and distributed offices are the kinds of challenges that can't be addressed by traditional perimeter defenses, such as a firewall with some form of intrusion prevention-detection (IDS/IPS) system. Securing information or data means wrapping security around user identity: in other words, identity is now the new perimeter and requires implementing an identity and access management capability. Join expert Harpreet Kohli to explore identity and access management (IAM) concepts and components, key challenges, and an action plan to build an IAM strategy and road map. If you want to better understand how IAM strategy, technology, and processes work together to build an IAM capability in an organization or are preparing for the CISSP or CISM certification exams, this course is for you. What you'll learn and how you can apply it By the end of this course, you'll understand: The problems IAM will solve The components of IAM and how they work together IAM use cases An action plan to build or update your IAM strategy and road map And you'll be able to: Assess the current state of IAM in your organization Identify the deficiencies and associated risks Establish criteria for a successful IAM implementationThis course is for you because... You're an IT professional, cybersecurity professional, or technical or management decision maker who wants to learn about IAM. You're a technology and business consultant acting as a liaison between technology and business units. You're a project, team, or department leader who requires the knowledge to collaborate with cybersecurity teams. You're a manager, administrator, or executive who wants to understand cybersecurity security responsibilities and best practices. Prerequisites A basic understanding of IT, security, and business concerns Recommended preparation: Read "Introduction" (chapter in Identity and Access Management) Recommended follow-up: Finish Identity and Access Management (book) Take CISSP Bootcamp (live online training course with Dean Bushmiller).

Abstract: JavaScript is the base for many other languages; if you know JavaScript, you can work with a lot of other languages and dependent frameworks easily. This course is based on the newer features that were released with the ECMAScript specification 6 and above. So, we will only discuss things from ES6 and above. In the first section of this course, you will touch base on JavaScript history, and you will get in place all the required stuff that you should have in your machine for this course. In the second section of the course, you will focus on variables and scope, and you will see the newer patterns to work with variables. Following that, in the third section, we will discuss functions and arguments, which is a critical part of this course because JavaScript treats functions as a first-class citizens, so knowing what changes have been incorporated into them in newer versions is also very essential. In the fourth section, you will learn about operators and how to better use and code them. Then you will understand the new functionality of error handling; in an application where errors are not handled properly, the usability of such an application is nearly impossible. Then we have a section dedicated to async patterns and promises where you will see a few of the latest functions in comparison with similar older functions. By the end of the course, you will get to know the hacks and tricks to improve your coding skills. What You Will Learn Learn various JavaScript hacks Learn various JavaScript concepts Understand the spread operators in JavaScript Explore optional chaining operators Explain prototypal chains Understand error handling in JavaScript Audience This course can be taken by any advanced and intermediate JavaScript learners. Abstract: C++ is considered hard to learn. Although it may be harder to learn than other languages, such as Python or JavaScript, in return, you get some huge advantages: you can code with one of the most powerful languages in the world, which opens possibilities that are not available with other less powerful languages. Also, and this can be an important factor for you, if you're looking for a job, C++ knowledge lets you stand out and you may be able to get a better salary. The reasoning is quite simple: because C++ is harder, you have less competition, and companies are willing to pay more. Harder doesn't mean impossible if you have the right resources to start with. This course is created with one thing in mind: to give you the knowledge and practice you need to quickly master C++ basics--no more, no less. A simple and easy approach lets you get started and get motivated to learn more about C++. This is not a complete 50-hour course where you learn everything about everything. No! This course is about getting to the point and getting to the basics. With this practical C++ course, you will get what you really need to start programming in C++. Then you will be able to efficiently use this foundation to learn and work in many different fields: Video games Embedded software Robotics Artificial intelligence Operating systems And many more.

Abstract: This is a no-nonsense, demo-based introduction to getting started with Maven. You'll learn how to work with the Maven build tool, which is currently the number-one industry standard for creating Java applications. By concentrating on practical hands-on demonstrations, you'll see firsthand how Maven works. From there you will develop the skills--and the confidence--to use it on your own to build your Java projects at home, college, or in the workplace. While many video courses are delivered presentation style, this unique course uses a demonstration-first approach, explaining concepts through demonstration. You'll experience this approach first "at the command line," with videos showing what Maven is doing and explaining how it is doing it; then in IDEs using the sophisticated Maven integration that Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA provide. In this way, you'll develop an understanding of the nuts and bolts of the tool and be in a position to develop effectively after the course is over. This approach also equips you with the "under the hood" understanding you need to effectively troubleshoot any problems you may encounter when developing with Maven on your own. Though this course has some useful content for people who are already using Maven, it is really intended for Maven beginners. Maybe you've started a new job where they use it to build their applications, or you're learning industry-standard tools to better place you ahead of the competition in the job market. By unlocking the mechanics of how Maven works in front of your eyes, the course will equip you to better build Java projects with the tool and have fun doing so.

Abstract: 4+ Hours of Video Instruction The Perfect Course for Learning the Data Visualization Life Cycle The Data Visualization Life Cycle not only teaches you fundamentally useful techniques for making your data visualizations better, but it will also open your eyes to the different data cultures that exist in our modern, data-driven world. You learn how to make better data visualization for your stakeholders, work more effectively with your peers, and enhance your ability to explore your own data. About the Instructor Elijah Meeks is a co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Noteable, a startup focused on evolving how we analyze and communicate data. He is known for his pioneering work in the digital humanities while at Stanford, where he was the technical lead for acclaimed works like ORBIS and Kindred Britain. He was Netflix's first Senior Data Visualization Engineer, and while at Netflix and Apple worked to develop the charting library Semiotic as well as bring cutting-edge data visualization techniques to analytical applications for stakeholders across the organization including A/B testing, conversation flows, algorithms, membership, people analytics, content, image testing, and social media. He is a prolific writer, speaker, and leader in the field of data visualization and the co-founder and first executive director of the Data Visualization Society. Skill Level: Beginner Intermediate Learn How To: Understand your audience and the approach you should take to your data visualization Optimize data visualizations for different data cultures and points in the life cycle Collaborate with others to produce data visualizations Manage pain points when working with different data professionals Improve data explanation Design for different kinds of data products and delivery methods Build a data visualization culture and increase data literacy Investigate automated and machine-based analysis View data visualizations as business assets Who Should Take This Course: Audience: This video series is designed to provide key context and skills for data visualization creators whether they are analysts, data scientists, data engineers or even downstream data consumers and leadership. You'll find the most value in the course if you've learned some fundamentals of data visualization and need more practical advice for how to work with peers and stakeholders to create effective data communication. Course Requirements: Working understanding of basic data visualization (knowing when and being able to create bar charts, line charts and scatterplots) Experience building data products like dashboards, reports or presentations using data visualization Familiarity with the data lifecycle Topics Include: Lesson 1. Understanding Stakeholders and Approaches to Data Visualization Data visualization is often taught as if there was only one kind of approach to answer one kind of question for one kind of audience. But data visualization out in the real world is used in many different ways with different goals and different ways of measuring impact. In this section, I introduce the data visualization life cycle, which will provide you with a broader understanding of different approaches to data visualization. Lesson 2. Optimizing for Different Data Cultures It's not enough to understand that there are different ways of doing data visualization from a theoretical standpoint. This section focuses on specific and practical aspects of how you might visualize the same information differently depending on where you and your audience are in the data visualization life cycle. We focus in on how to visualize data for data wrangling, data engineering, and data science. Lesson 3. Collaboration Foundations Collaboration isn't well-described in a data visualization setting, even though it happens all the time. In this section, we explore how different roles collaborate with each other as well as how principles of collaboration help you to design charts even if the audience is only yourself. To understand collaboration, we look at it from several different angles including collaboration between data roles to make a product, collaboration with stakeholders, and how to think about collaborating with yourself. Lesson 4. Collaboration in Mature Data Organizations Once you've mastered the general principles of collaboration you need to understand how we collaborate in more mature data settings. This section highlights typical modes of collaboration in organizations with different data roles by looking at each data role--analyst, data engineer, and data scientist--to understand typical areas of friction between the roles to develop a data visualization product. Lesson 5. Improving Data Explanation When your data visualization is used for explanatory purposes you need to leverage all the features available to you to make the most actionable charts. This section provides you with an overview and specific examples of how to make your data visualization more informative and accessible but also more likely to be used and acted upon. Lesson 6. Productization Productionalization Productischemizationismeizen Sometimes we view charts in a dashboard, sometimes in an email report, and sometimes using interactive scrollytelling. This section details the affordances and tradeoffs of each of these modes with tips and techniques to ensure that you're using the right mode and taking advantage of its strengths. Lesson 7. Closing the Loop We often think that charts only exist for a single decision, but they live on and affect more than just the moment they were made for. In this section, we explore how charts live on in an organization and what it means for you, your team, and your organization. Understanding this not only lets you make more effective charts but also makes for a more effective organization by growing data literacy and developing long-term processes that lead to better data visualization and better results from that data visualization. Abstract: Asynchronous Python Programming using asyncio and async/await lets you write code that runs many processes concurrently. It makes your code more responsive and stops it from wasting time waiting for slow file and internet access. It is simpler to write, easier to reason about, and uses less memory than threads and processes. We start the video with an overview of asyncio, showing the building blocks and core syntax in a few simple examples. Next, you will see how to make normal Python code work in an asynchronous environment, to minimize blocking and facilitate cooperative multi-tasking. Further, we cover an asyncio use-case working with network connections such as web servers using asynio's streams API, followed by communication between coroutines and synchronization of coroutines. We will also look at using the asyncio library to easily wrap blocking code into threads and processes, and some non-blocking replacement libraries used with asyncio such as aiohttp and aiofiles. The uvloop and unsync libraries will be discussed as ways to speed up and simplify your asyncio code. The following section covers writing more robust asyncio code to test and debug your code, handle stuck tasks using time out, logging and error handling and task management. Having gained a firm understanding of how to code using asyncio, the course finishes with a look under the hood. This starts by walking you through a hand-coded example of an event loop (the core of asyncio), an overview of the different types of awaitables and some useful functions of the event loop which gives you fine grain control What you will learn: What are the differences between asyncio, threads and processes How to run code concurrently using coroutines, asyncio, and async/await How to work with network connections using streams How to write robust and modern asynchronous code How asyncio works and how to use the low level functions for fine-grain control Who this video is for Intermediate to experienced Python programmers who want to speed up existing Python code and make it more responsive by using async/await and asyncio.

Abstract: What does the Yield keyword do in Python? This video covers the basics so you can understand what yield is, what is a generator, and why is it different than any other iterable in Python A yield keyword makes a function a lazy iterable. Producing values one at a time. The function becomes a generator, so when called, the code will not execute. A generator is a function that uses the yield keyword. This function is an iterable that produces values one at a time, or does a lazy production of values. I'll use a Jupyter Notebook that you can use to follow along with practical examples that will show you what are some of the key differences and when or why you would use the yield keyword. In this video you will learn: What is an iterable and how is it different from using yield? What does yield do to a function?
