    Abstract: This book examines the entrenchment of patriarchy in Africa and its attendant socioeconomic and political consequences on gender relations.     Abstract: Urban Multilingualism in East-Central Europe makes the case for an interdisciplinary approach to past urban multilingualism, using both historical and linguistic resources. It analyzes the Polish-Ukrainian-Yiddish-German encounter of late-Habsburg Lemberg (Lviv) and the city's distinct historical Polish dialect that resulted from it.
