Abstract:
Kasimir Ostoja Zagourski (1880-1941) quitta la Pologne pour l'Afrique en 1924. Il fut le premier photographe professionnel à voyager au coeur du Congo. Il prit des milliers de clichés des villages kubas, mangbetus, bwaks ou tutsis. Ce sont surtout les cérémonies : initiation, circoncision, excision, danse masquée, ornements corporels, coiffures, etc.
