The book contains proceedings of the online conference conducted on May 12-13, 2022 and organized by the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Allenstein), Poland. The conference concerned multiple forms of ritual behavior practiced in various cultural, historical, and societal contexts, including ‟ghost marriageˮ in Taiwan; jeroky ñembo’e of the Paraguayan Guarani; rites surrounding the childbirth on Flores, Indonesia; family-related rituals in Cameroon; Ancient Roman forms of commemoration of departed ancestors; Catholic rituals as a form of ‟discipliningˮ in the colonial context of German Togo.
