This book highlights the geopolitical and economic consequences of the
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The author, a key architect of Polish eco-
nomic reforms and the most frequently cited economist from post-Com-
munist countries, shares new insights into the causes and mechanisms
of the Second Cold War. Written in an unorthodox, bold and lucid style,
the book raises provocative issues and provides convincing answers to

About the author
Grzegorz W. Kołodko is a distinguished professor of economics at Kozminski University (Warsaw, Poland). He is a key architect of Polish economic reforms and a public intellectual and politician. He was Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance in Poland, 1994-7 and 2002-3. He is a Member of Academia Europaea, and Director of Transformation, Integration, and Globalization Economic Research, TIGER, at Kozminski University. He is the world's most frequently cited economist from post-Communist countries, marathon runner, and globetrotter who has explored 170 countries and visited Antarctica.
