Abstract
Santa Clara del Cobre is a center for handicraft in copper. Today, as in colonial times, copper utensils are beaten into shape. In the 40s the industry expanded to include copper plates and ornaments for town customers. Guadalupe Lucas demonstrates kettle-making, Pablo Pureco, chiselled plate, and Etelberto Ramírez, flower vases. In interviews they explain the development of their craft and the problems they face.
