Abstract:
Bedarf die in Ökonomie und durch mediale Vernetzung geeinte Welt auch einer gemeinsamen Grundphilosophie? Die Schwierigkeiten, auf einen tragfähigen Konsens in strittigen Grundfragen zu kommen, deuten in diese Richtung. Doch wie könnte jene Grundphilosophie aussehen?Das Buch von Harald Seubert nimmt programmatisch die Strömungen und Tendenzen interkultureller Philosophie auf und vertieft sie auf die Grundlinien einer Weltphilosophie, die sich, keineswegs eklektizistisch, auf westliche und östliche Überlieferungsströme berufen kann. Dabei kommen namhafte westliche und östliche Stimmen zu Wort, von Platon über Cusanus und Hegel bis zu Whitehead und Sri Aurobindo. Reflektiert werden aber auch die verschiedenen Disziplinen philosophischen Denkens, von der Naturphilosophie über die Politische Philosophie und die Frage eines gemeinsamen Wertekonsenses bis zu Ontologie und Gottesfrage.
Abstract:
Is the economy and our world, which is united through media-networking, in dire need of a basic philosophy? It seems like it considering the difficulties we face when we try to reach a viable consensus on controversial fundamental questions. But what might such a basic philosophy look like?Harald Seubert’s book programmatically examines trends of intercultural philosophy, and extracts the basic requirements for a World Philosophy from it, which draw on western and eastern traditions in a non-eclectic way. Notable philosophers from the Orient and Occident, such as Plato, Cusanus, Hegel, Whitehead and Sri Aurobindo, have their say, and the book reflects on different disciplines of philosophical thought, from Natural to Political Philosophy, and the question of a possible consensus on values, to Ontology and the question of God.
