    Abstract: Aus einem etwa 4 m langen dunkelblauen Turbantuch, dessen Enden mit Kreuzstickereien verziert sind, bindet der Dorfvorstand aus Huye Luang am Neujahrstag einen Turban. Seine Ohren bleiben dabei unbedeckt.
    Abstract: The turban-cloth is rolled out and measured out by spreading the arms so that both embroidered ends lie on one another when it is bound. The turban is then wound in the traditional manner.

    Abstract: Ein Schmied aus Ban Meo Mai schmilzt Silber in einem tönernen Schmelztiegel und gießt es zu einem Barren, den er zu einem dünnen Stab aushämmert und einem Zieheisen zu Draht auszieht. Dann dreht er ihn auf einer Eisenwinde zu einer Spirale und schlägt diese mit einem Meißel zu kleinen Silberringen auf, die er zu einer Kette zusammenfügt.
    Abstract: A smith pours silver from a clay crucible; he then hammers out the resulting ingot into a thin rod which he draws into wire by means of a wire-drawing plate. He then gives it a spiral form by turning it on an iron windlass. This spiral is divided by means of a chisel into small silver rings which are linked together to form a chain.

    Abstract: Reis wird in den Holzmörser der Stampfe eingefüllt und eine Zeitlang gestampft. Der erst grob enthülste Reis wird nun geworfelt und, nachdem der Stößel des Stampfers gegen einen anderen von größerem Durchmesser ausgewechselt wurde, erneut gestampft. Die Arbeiten werden von Mädchen aus Doi Muse ausgeführt.

    Abstract: Ein Mädchen aus dem Dorf Ban Alm zieht die Kettfäden in die Litzen der Webschäfte und in die Rietlücken des Weberkammes. Die Kette wird im Webstuhlrahmen am Warenbaum befestigt und an einem Pflock festgebunden, der als Kettbaum dient. Die Schäfte werden mit den Tritten verbunden, und nach dem Ordnen der Kette wird mit dem Weben begonnen. Die Mutter hilft bei der Arbeit.
    Abstract: The end loops of the lease in the fixed warp are cut, and the crossed warp-threads alternately threaded into the heddles of the front and back shafts. Then the warp threads are threaded into the reed by means of a procupine quill. The warp is fixed on to the frame of the loom and bound firmly to a peg which is stuck behind the loom and serves as warp-beam. The shafts are connected with the pedals, the weaving process starts after arranging the warp.

    Abstract: Two threads with white seed pearls and two strings consisting of seven cotton threads each are strung on a bamboo bow in the manner of a warp. A red cotton thread is passed through the warp by hand. Thus a ribbon is made the edges of which are formed by the two rows of pearls. The end of the ribbon is finally decorated with a tassel of variously coloured cotton threads.
