Abstract:
Transkulturalität ist in Europa nicht nur ein Phänomen von Migration, Globalisierung und Urbanität im 20. Jahrhundert. In den ehemaligen Landimperien Russland, Österreich und Osmanisches Reich gab und gibt es Räume, in denen Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Sprachen, Religionen, Kulturen und Nationalitäten zusammenlebten und ihre Grenzen untereinander aushandelten. Deshalb bemühen Studien zu Integrationsprozessen in Europa heute gerne diese Gebiete als Vorbilder.Dieser Band geht anhand der Fallbeispiele Westukraine und Bosnien den Besonderheiten multiethnischer Imperien sowie den Unterschieden zwischen historisch gewachsenen und aktuellen Phänomenen der Transkulturalität nach
