Abstract:
Der Mensch ist nicht von Natur aus egoistisch, wie oft behauptet wird. Vielmehr ist unser Gehirn altruistisch. Es ist so gepolt, dass wir uns um andere kümmern, Gutes tun und moralisch handeln. Zahlreiche neue neurowissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse belegen dies. Pfaff stellt die Forschungsbelege für diese Theorie vom altruistischen Gehirn genau, ausführlich und durchaus laienverständlich vor. Dann geht es ihm darum aufzuzeigen, wie sich altruistische Verhaltensweisen des Einzelnen noch weiter fördern lassen und wie sie gezielt für Veränderungen in der Gesellschaft genutzt werden können. Dabei will er auch deutlich machen, wie sich Erkenntnisse der Neurowissenschaften in neue Ideen und praktische Massnahmen umsetzen lassen.
